Very happy with the custom sousaphone bell cover that I ordered. I wasn’t sure if our logo file had a a good enough resolution for such a big print, but it worked great!
Next step is to get much better at playing sousaphone! (Trombone is my primary instrument)

Found a good deal on a used King 2350. This should be fun to play! My primary instrument is still trombone, but I’ve been wanting a sousaphone for a while!

Picked up the Korg version of the ARP Odyssey on the used market. It’s the mini key version. It is in great shape, but there is definitely going to be a learning curve on my side to figure everything out!

Very excited to finally get a bass trombone! It will take some getting used to the independent triggers, but it will be fun to play. It also weighs a ton! (Eastman ETB848G)

Tuba Christmas in Austin, TX at the Texas State Capitol.

I’m used to playing trombone, but I have been working on euphonium for a bit now to be able to play at Tuba Christmas (tubas, sousas, euphoniums, and baritones!) in a few weeks.
I need to decorate the euphonium, but it’s been fun playing on it. I found a used Yamaha that is pretty playable.

End of the season party for La Murga de Austin! We had a fun time, and Hopsquad has a good foosball table!

Last home game of Austin FC’s season. Not the result that we had hoped for, but we took a moment to get a group picture of La Murga de Austin.
One more away game in the season, and we will be playing at the watch party!

Pre-game for the first game of the Austin FC season! We play at Hopsquad (local brewery near Q2 Stadium), then play in a march to the stadium, then play a short set outside the stadium, and then play in the stands for the whole game. It’s a ton of fun, but my chops are definitely worn out by the end of the game!

The power has been out all week in our neighborhood, but we made it out to Taquero Mucho taqueria late last evening. The sopes were really good, as was the guacamole starter.
I should have gotten some restaurant photos; there’s a very, very pink theme! Very cheery after not having power!
