I won't be buying or recommending #Unifi kit in future.

My CO detector expired, chirps every 30s. Sealed unit, so to avoid trying to open it to shut it up, I tried to drown it, figured I could short a component on the board. It actually triggered a flatline, which is still sounding from the bottom of my outside trash can, 9 hours later.

Bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, violin, harp, guzheng, dulcimer, etc. and it's amazing how many talented artists are finding an audience that way. Some get the full-length treatment for YouTube. Thought this one was pretty cool. A bit late for actual Star Wars day, but #ThisIsTheMay so we celebrate all month long now I guess. 😁

Firefox mobile helpfully hides inactive tabs, but that means every so often I have to go in and clear the baffles. Found this hiding there- pretty much the definitive #Matrix code (#digitalRain) emulator, lots of amazing variants, all running in the browser.

Like everything these days my #Rheem #HeatPumpHotWaterHeater has a (kinda dodgy) app. They sent me an email touting their new and improved #Econet app.
Mistake 1- didn't simply update the app via the normal update process. The instructions included "uninstall old app, click this link to get the new one".
Mistake 2- failed to mention that it was only updated for iOS.
I noticed a vague reference in the email to the app store after not finding a new version in G Play & links all sent me to Apple.

...which is reminding me that I need to see about migrating my #MinecraftBedrock server to a docker container to match the java server (it exists, I just have to make sure I can move the existing world files), since I had to go in and fix the URL parser in the script that runs to check for new versions of bedrock after MS changed the download page to add a preview version for Linux which fell through the parser and confused it because it was a second URL plus some HTML.

Been playing with Home Assistant and ZigBee smart plugs and created a scene to toggle the Xmas lights. Had fun joking with the teen about threatening to "turn Christmas off" if they misbehave. Also I'm amused by the candelabra icons having the option for lit vs unlit.
