Sie sagten ihrer Mutter
Kinder werde sie nie haben
Und als sie geboren wurde
Nannte ihre Mutter sie
DochSie sagten sie sei schwach
Und klein und krank
Und dass sie nicht
Lange zu leben habe
DochIhre Mutter hoffte
Das sie in einer Welt aufwuchs
In der alle gleich behandelt wurden
Aber leider
DochSie sagten Mathe und Autos
Seien nichts für Mädchen
Dass sie sich interessiert
Für Puppen und für Kleidung

What app do you use for contacts / as an address book? Which features do you like about it? Any cool stories to tell, recommendations to make?

The Web I grew up with and that grew up with me was already slowly fading. The Web of many people and organizations having their own small website. Capitalism and convenience lead to a concentration onto a small number of platforms and apps, but mostly these platforms let the rest be. People and small organizations and groups could still have their little website.

A UX fail I get annoyed with is a product deciding a text is too long, showing "Read more", only to reveal that the text would have comfortably fit. Today I saw an egregious example in Whatsapp.
Now I know Hanlon's razor tells me that this isn't intentional, but due to the incompetence of the developers.
But is it?
Is it really more likely that the front end developers of a trillion dollar company can't get this right than that someone intentionally "improved" engagement metrics?

If Uzbekistan wins or ties today against UAE, they will - for the first time ever - have qualified for the FIFA world cup final tournament!
If not they still have a path to the final tournament, but it gets messy.

Good news: languages that are more widespread have a higher complexity. This means that underserved languages are more likely to be learned well using a smaller corpus, which could help a bit with the rich-get-richer problem of LLMs and existing corpora.

How can LLMs, Knowledge Graphs and Search Engines be combined to best serve users? What are the strengths and limitations of these technologies?
Aidan Hogan (Chile, previously DERI, Linked data), Luna Dong (Meta, previously Amazon and Google), Gerhard Weikum (MPI, Yago), and myself (Wikimedia, previously Google) have been invited to give keynotes on this topic, and wrote a paper together to capture some of the ideas we were presenting.

Sie sagten sie sei unanständig
So ein Leben sei nicht richtig
Benannten sie mit unanständigen Worten
Was sie sich denn erlaube
DochSie sagten das geht doch nicht
So ein Leben sei kein Leben
Das ist jetzt schon sehr anders
Das ist nicht einfach nur Neid
DochSie sagten wir sind halt nicht so
Und wollen auch nicht so sein
Wir sind glücklich wie wir sind
Und deswegen darfst du glücklich nicht sein

Today I got confused by this line in "Beat it":
"Showing how funky and strong is your fight"
What did Michael Jackson mean with "funky"?
