  1. @vivekanandanks thanks for the interesting post. I want to suggest that the #configmanagememt analogy part (where #ansible sits, and so do several other widely used tools like #saltstack, #puppet, #chef, #cfengine) can be improved. The central premise of configuration management is that current state is dynamic, a moving target. Constantly pruning a growing tree might be a better analogy.

    Honestly,
#Zellij is just too good❤️. I'm just using the basic panes management now & it's really great experience.

But my fav thing so far is the ability to attach a session 🔥. On #remote machine & start zellij always. I do some #command & when #ssh #connection disconnects, I just hop in ssh again with `zellij attach` and it just reopens the #session fully for me🤯, nothing in stdout is lost & even whole layout is preserved🔥

Btw, I haven't used tmux before.

  3. Bots are dead set on their goals 😂 Not even AI, just same order of automated messages.

And really sad to see many fall for this scam. Especially by leveraging unemployment fear, job security fear etc etc and using the word HR and meant to recruit.

Leveraging someone's #FOMO for their selfish reasons angers me to be honest 😑

  4. Was just checking out some tvix talks, the tvix-store is certainly attractive with even the replit blog mentioning about 90% storage reduction in cache storage. Even devenv switched to tvix.

But I couldn't see any docs on how can I start using it in my nixos or atleast for nix shells, etc

Am I missing out something or any views on this would help me

  8. I still am figuring out how to manage time(ahem procrastination). Certain things makes me stay awake at night when I'm so much into them, but many doesn't.

I guess the problem of my procrastination is because I'm afraid of a #project being a #failure or any type of failure/ imperfect outcome.

The self doubt is hindering my everyday life.

How are u all overcoming #procrastination or similar fail-to-action thoughts? 😭😭😭

It's great. But the best #contribution is to share it to the #artist directly maybe through their own #website or something. But not everyone have those. Also some artists pay less for the #instrumentalists and other session #musicians and just outsource some mixing engineer and finally just hold the album name to #themselves and #publish. It is fine, but let's say I listen a song and find just the #drums super cool and I want #tip or contribute to the #drummer.

  10. @zellij
    The right spelling is yazelix.

I didn't noticed it at first.
I shared this toot to yazelix creator, he's the one who pointed that out🤣LoL

    Btw, it's really a cool take leveraging existing stuffs like, #yazi, #helix, #zellij, #nushell, #nix

U don't have to ditch fish shell 😃. Nushell's external completion options let us use any completions as we like. Like carapace, fish or any custom completions.
I use fish completions in nushell for some commands. Coz nushell completions are still not that good compared to fish as of now.

Atuin is pretty awesome for history management. Since I use nushell , it has its own history. So I made a hook in my nushell config so that atuin and nushell both have the same history and so I can manage history using atuin in one place😁

Whoever's using atuin and nushell can benefit from this small hook in the config.

    My config:
    github.com/vivekanandan-ks/ksv

    @atuin
    @nushell

    #atuin #nushell #nu #shell #history #config

I found the reason, it's because of this:
    github.com/NixOS/flake-registr

Looks like it's available for every nix flake users officially and one can implicitly turn it off by configuring the registry options I guess.

But it's suggested to add inputs explicitly, since u might change ur registry later in ur configs in future.

    Unexpected learning🤝
    Thanks for pointing out this

    My #NixOS #setup. Even when I #ported it once to #another #machine, I #forgot to add the #user #password. So I kind of went into a #ghost user #session. All i did is #reboot and chose previous #generation corrected my #config and that's all. No need for #backup, #rescue #disk etc. I corrected my configs, now it's truly portable. All my setup is #rock #solid #stable and never #broke it though I use a lot of #unstable #packages. #Nix and #NixOS are just 🔥 ❤️

    Same here.
"Learn as you go" approach works great. Some still haven't yet adapted to the understanding of declarative Linux systems. So once someone realise and taste it's potential they'll start looking at things the nix way.

Honestly I learnt every #tech skills of mine because of the #passion. Sooner or later we get these #short #term and #long term #purpose.
But if someone's going for #AI #coding for the sake of #Job / #Career might not #sustain if things get hard. That's why I #suggest people to #learn #organically developing their mind #map through #logics.
I use AI for understanding the #documentation and #debugging purposes not for a entire #mental #model.
    I do it for #education not #production.
