I posted another blog regarding the SCMSync or SCM or Git workflow. I'll just call it Git workflow in the future.
https://uncomfyhalomacro.pl/blog/202507192430
This post includes how I update the biome package. This post is easier to follow for those who are new to the workflow or about to get into when packaging in openSUSE. I do have a video before for updating harelang https://youtu.be/xuWjOK7X1SY but it is a 30 minute video so I prefer you read the post.

CW: re: my wish for year 2024
@uncomfyhalomacro So, as someone who does a lot of interviews for devs, I have some advice if you want it.
Start doing some volunteer code work in a FOSS project, and maintain a public github/bitbucket with your code projects.
The very FIRST thing I do when looking at a resume is look to see if the person has anything they wrote up in github, I can tell a LOT from looking at their code. I can guage ability, dedication, and rough adherence to good code practices, I can tell about how good of a learning base you have as a programmer, etc.
Most other people in my position will do the same, and TBH, we are the folks you'd be working with because we are the team leads and the system engineers running the various groups in IT. You want a coding position? Start there, make it easy for us. It will also lead into some interesting interview questions like "What started you working for FOSS Project?"

@uncomfyhalomacro I've installed #sioyek some time ago, ran it twice or so and returned to #zathura. For my needs, there was nothing that I could not do with Zathura; plus Zathura opens non-PDF files (comic book, djvu, ps) and printing is built-in and does not require manual tweaking in the config file.

CW: looking for a job
Hello #Fediverse.
I am looking for #EntryLevel roles for a #SoftwareEngineering or #InformationTechnology job.
I am familiar with Rust, Julia and Python. I am interested to learn more technologies like the #Cloud, #AWS, and #Databases.
My most notable open source experience are found on GitHub: https://github.com/uncomfyhalomacro/ such as OBS Service Cargo for #openbuildservice for #opensuse.

CW: looking for a job
Other experiences include volunteer #packager for #opensuse.
Thanks to @firstyear for being kind to me to share his professional experience in both #rustlang and #packaging
And you can check out my cv at my website: https://uncomfyhalomacro.pl/cv.pdf
I believe that my curiosity to learn and my passion to work hard for my interests will allow me to become more competent.

CW: rant; ph education
#nooneleftbehind here in the #philippines is for me, bad. students here are harder to teach every year because of the downward quality of intelligence. we spoonfed them that even cheaters who cheat cant cheat properly because the one they copied have a 90% of having the wrong answers. it's an exaggeration but it's no surprise we are the lowest in #southeastasia / #asean

being able to update a package by opening a submit request in #opensusebuildservice is one of the reasons why I like #opensuse. other distros such as #archlinux, you have to wait for the maintainer to update it themselves. good thing other distros such as #nixos and #voidlinux let's you open a PR on their github repos for their packages.

the only reason i use #foot over other terminals is because it respects #fontconfig. There maybe no #ligatures but I don't really need them.
