Just a quick hack I noticed when spinning up #devcontainers with compose files outside VS Code fails (e.g., in #zedEditor or AntiGravity).
Often, a simple docker compose up -d helps to spin up the services so the devcontainer only has to be attached. -
Running #vscode #devcontainers on an SSH remote feels like black magic.
I can code without any feeling of latency, push code using my SSH public key, and launch GUIs that show on my client. -
Controlling a #kuka robot via the realtime interface in #ROS (1) running in a #Docker container using the #WSL works surprisingly well. I had concerns that the Windows network stack or task management would prevent sending commands to the realtime target with a consistent enough rate. Bonus: even the 3D visualization in #RViz works, although I had to enable software rendering. Otherwise the meshes are not rendered. RViz2 works fine with Nvidia and the Intel GPU.

@ai6yr @mcnado those that follow the lies and conspiracy theories are very insecure about any argument that includes any grey area… where both sides may have well founded yet contradictory arguments.
For #maga and #truebelievers, what seems to be half the population of the US, a well spun black and white lie told by a trusted storyteller, no matter how ludicrous, is easier to believe than reality.

@davoyager I agree those are both problems, but the fundamental flaw, IMHO, is the #truebelievers and their #storytellers that spin lies with only a modicum of truth but convincingly enough to make it sound unambiguous/#blackandwhite. The storytellers stoke fear leading to hate in targeted groups: the basis for #fascism
They can’t tolerate ambiguity or any notion that two opposing arguments can be valid so only believe the conspiracy theories… and there’s no arguing with them

Tiébélé village in Burkina Faso, home to the Kassena people. The Tiébélé royal residence is made up of clay houses hand-painted in different geometric patterns using clay paints. The patterns are an indicator of royal staus within the community. Another difference is the huts’ door sizes. The chief has the house with the smallest door, for his protection.
