Happy to show my new Fosstodon #Moderator badge.

Now been part of the new team, my commitment is even stronger.
Sure new mistakes will be made, that is unavoidable. However I am safe with that our team will handle them well, learn and do better from that. I've seen it happen already.
I'm confident it will soon[ish] spread around #Fediverse that #Fosstodon is getting good again 😃

Jag instämmer i vad @karlemilnikka och Peter rekommenderar organisationer om vad gäller #ClaudeMythos i detta avsnitt av #BliSäker. Men ser samtidigt risken att många säkerhetsavdelningar nu kommer fixera än mer på för dem tekniskt begripligt och externa hot, fortsätta prioritera ner det som redan i nuläget kostar sina organisationer enorma summor, och risker, i form av produktivitet och annan verksamhetsnytta.
De 2 viktigaste det handlar om är:
1 - Det ska vara lätt att göra rätt
2 - Kunskap -

I like what Simon is writing in his blog about this. In particular about the forkability of the tools. Backed up by quoting Armin Ronacher:

I don't trust anything that #OpenAI say or promise. Now they're buying #Astral https://openai.com/index/openai-to-acquire-astral/ - and gains control over #Ruff, #uv and #ty.
That the "Astral team will join the Codex team at OpenAI and over time, we’ll explore deeper integrations" - makes me wonder how well these really great tools will keep functioning stand alone in the future.
Can I keep being depended on them for managing my :python: projects?
AI companies are gaining al the more control of the toolchain! #worrying

Great overview. Just want to add that Signal is #OpenSource an their #SignalProtocol (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_Protocol) is used by quite a few other messaging apps. Including Whatsapp and Google.

The other thing I will do is to use both Vim and Neovim.
:vim: for local system admin
:neovim: with LazyVim for dev and other useThe idea here is to create my own custom .vimrc tuned for local system admin stuff, that can me reused everywhere so it is the same on all machines. Including when I log in remote.

Recently I added #direnv to my terminal. Now when I cd to a :python: repo its .venv is automatically sourced. Including picked up by :neovim: when running it there. All needed is that .envrc with "layout uv" in the repo root.
And, as seen in the screenshot, #starship is also picking it up.
Adding this kind of cleverness on system level, instead of a GUI monolith, takes using and developing to completely new levels.

AMD has already released its first #openSIL #BIOS for one of their CPU architectures, specifically #Zen4:
This is quite big, as it means they are replacing its #ClosedSource AGESA with an #OpenSource BIOS.
And it will be the future for newer Zen's too.

It was so sweet to wake up at 🕚, after a well timed #AW last night. Quite restored after a completely crazy work week that felt like 347% overloaded by stuff coming in from all directions.
But good, because it was mostly about things I've for years been trying us to change focus to solving causes, instead fixated on quick workarounds to the consequences users reports.
- Maybe the mindset of my colleagues finally is changing, to get that fixing the source makes the consequences stop?
