CW: AI Rant
I used #junie account 3 days in this week and finished my credits :) also I am using #copilot in daily office work, and I manage to finish my tokens maybe once in last 6 months. And it is refreshed in couple of days.
Feels like there is a big miscalculation or wrong monitoring happening here.
I am not talking only for myself, A friend also was complaining Cursor is eating the tokens too quickly and I heard Cluade changed iterations number internally so the generated code is getting worse lately.

I love the airbender story and has been watching all just heard they leaked this one out ❤️

is #js the next #java applets, some may remember, there were so many viruses and hacks has been happening with #applets around 2000s at the end they drop the applets totally.
Now having #dependabot or #snyk is like just bringing a new security hole strangely opposite the intention.
Probably better to not upgrade if all versions are secure and stay there forever 😃

I was reading google tools and saw https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/developer-library/guides/development/keep-files-in-sync/ which looks like a linter job doing some replace. Here is a open source tool doing that https://github.com/simonepri/ifttt-lint
I am wondering where do we use this kind of tool in projects ? Just real world scenarios.
please boost to reach more people.
TIA

#PostgreSQL Differential Code Coverage—Now Automated Daily!
Just came across a fantastic initiative by [@nbyavuz](https://github.com/nbyavuz) that I think the Postgres community will appreciate.
They’ve built a script that generates **differential code coverage** between the latest release branch (currently `REL_18_STABLE`) and `HEAD`—a great way to track what’s being tested as the codebase evolves. Even better, it’s automated via GitHub Actions and published daily as an HTML report.
Script: https://github.com/nbyavuz/postgres-code-coverage/blob/main/code_coverage.sh
Live Report: https://nbyavuz.github.io/postgres-code-coverageWhether you're contributing to Postgres or just curious about test coverage trends, this is worth a look. Kudos to the author for making this public and maintainable!
If you have thoughts or suggestions, I’m sure they’d welcome feedback.

For the past couple of months, my team have been working on something exciting—bringing Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server support to Redgate Monitor! 🎉
Monitoring cloud databases comes with unique challenges—ensuring performance, diagnosing issues before they escalate, and keeping systems running smoothly. With this new support in Redgate Monitor, we’re making it easier than ever for teams to:
✅ Gain real-time insights into Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server
✅ Set up intelligent alerts for slow queries, high CPU usage, and unexpected spikes
✅ Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks with detailed diagnostics
It’s been a rewarding journey working on this, and I’m excited to see how it helps teams keep their databases healthy and performant. If you’re using Azure, give it a try!
Check out the details here 👉 https://www.red-gate.com/blog/cloud/redgate-monitor-support-for-azure-postgresql-flexible-serverWould love to hear your thoughts—what are your biggest challenges with monitoring cloud databases?

One of my side project having issues with the server which is up around 5 years now, and time to migrate I know, and slowly I moved some to #koyeb, which is a nice cloud provider.
One big site was in virtualbox image working on windows 2012🤓first I thought to upgrade it to VPS, but I am so lazy, I was searching around, just read this post, explaining how to move VM to #OCI fingers crossed it wont cost a fortune,

Today is playing around with WMI, it is untouched areas of the code for a long time
"Win32_PerfRawData_Counters_ProcessorInformation" when I search this I could not find anything on https://learn.microsoft.com/ but still it is used, I think #msdn was better than this site, at least it had more details, the new site feels like missing pieces. or WMI is not liked by MS any more no idea 🤓

I know #Sysinternals around 15 years now, and I use process explorer for my daily use, it is better than windows task manager, anyway today I learned that they have procdump, and it is actually open source for #linux, and it is pretty popular 3k stars in GitHub, then I was wondering if I can find gcgen option for windows @mariohewardt said they will consider it, I think it will be easier for customers to have procdump instead of dotnet-gcdump or opening task manager and generating the dump from it :blobcathappy:

Story of 1 Billion rows of data, where it is started from and how it is ended, incredible, in short, this video is saying never stop optimizing in #java or any language, we should improve ourselves and the code should work faster and faster. Thanks to @royvanrijn to collect all story in this video and keeping up with #1brc, Also respect to @graalvm feels like future of Java is bright. To be honest, I will rewatch/study this video more 🤓 hard to comprehend at first watch.

Since morning I am searching for a nice free log analyzer, I used #splunk around 12 years just wanted to search quickly on some application logs, most probably log4j or log4net logs. I tried
- #ELK<-too hard to install configure
- #graylog<-too complex or non working docs
- #jaeger<-wanted json format
- #openobserve<-does not have simple log upload or file path provider, needs fluentd or kubectlI did not know splunk is this good, now I am convinced it is super product. Feel free to tell if you have a good suggestion and boost please for reach.
