  1. Anyone else think better when their hands are busy? 🙋🏻

I read audiobooks while I'm sewing, solving visual puzzles, taking pictures, crafting, and just about anything else that doesn't involve words.

Today that's looking like playing with a new printing process while filling my brain with history and theory of nonbinary identities (in preparation for my ACES VCon talk next month).

  7. Tanya Gold: »Boris #Johnson’s political career ended on Wednesday, with stuttering and fake politesse.

Seated before a U.K. House of Commons committee poised to rule on whether he lied to #parliament about #Partygate, Johnson was far from his element. Beneath the ghost of his famous bonhomie and the half-conceived rhetoric, I saw anger segueing to bafflement: A man who has been #forgiven all his life, now #unforgiven

  12. This article in Harper's about being a Jew in Auschwitz in 2024 is so important for non-Jews to read.

    harpers.org/archive/2024/09/my

Please my non-Jewish friends who talk about the Holocaust, read it and spread it.

It speaks to how European "Jewish Heritage Sites" and "Holocaust Memorials" make a spectacle about Judaism, but they often rely on the same antisemitic tropes that Jews deal with today, how non-Jews are happy to talk about the Holocaust but don't want to deal with real Jews, and the reality of being an actual living Jew.

If you get even more curious about this phenomenon, please read "People Love Dead Jews" by Dara Horn.

It also speaks to the way Poland has worked so hard to rewrite its own history, to make itself both the victim and the saviors.
