Don't know why but just noticed I root server (operated by Netnod) has a MX record in root zone. See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/root-files/root-servers.net.zone

Just like Internet RFC (Request for Comments), there exists/use to exist other Internet documents like:
- BCP (best current practices). See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/rfc/in-notes/bcp/
- FYI (for your information). See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/rfc/in-notes/fyi/
- IEN (Internet Experiment note). See https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/rfc/in-notes/ien/PS - I mirror bunch of Internet stuff at https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/ which also lead to above findings :)

From NIXI (India's NREN) August end ASN transfers, I see roughly 825(x2) ASN were handed out. From AS147316 till AS148966, see https://mirrors.de.sahilister.net/pub/ftp.ripe.net/ripe/asnames/asn.txt.
The number is interesting for me, as from my previous count (for https://blog.sahilister.in/2024/09/educational-and-research-institutions-with-own-asn-in-india/) the number as of now is less than 70 for education/research ASNs.

Recently made the transition to self hosting authoritative name servers. Wrote a bit of secondary options available for it and the experience itself https://blog.sahilister.in/2025/07/secondary-authoritative-name-server-options-for-self-hosted-domains/
Didn't found the process too hard TBF, worth a try.

Case of (broken) maharashtra.gov.in Authoritative Name Servers https://blog.sahilister.in/2025/06/case-of-broken-maharashtra.gov.in-authoritative-name-servers/
TLDR they're broken on multiple levels. Sync broken, RFC 1918 address, each NS giving different response - there's too much going on.

Good enough amount of name servers :P
```
