@matt There’s also the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing, or #BOINC for short. One of the first scientific distributed computing networks, and it is still going strong these days. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berkeley_Open_Infrastructure_for_Network_Computing

Update: I finally found a solution that works really well for my server monitoring needs, #Beszel. Lightweight, easy to set up and the web UI is super screenreader accessible as well. Only part that isn't accessible are the various graphs, but at least you can see the current values for disk usage, network throughput, disk I/O speeds etc. https://beszel.dev

For anyone interested, I just put up a small site that shows the streaming schedule of the #Tomorrowland festival in a format that is much more screenreader friendly than the official website. And, it should even show set times in your local timezone. Enjoy! https://tomorrowland.debspace.org #Tomorrowland2025

While at #SightCity yesterday, I was introduced to a line of Braille displays called b.note by Eurobraille. Intriguingly, they are powered by a Raspberry Pi, using Debian Linux as their OS. Apparently there's a developer mode, which allows users to connect to it via ssh, and even extend functionality using Python scripts. I'm already in the market for a new display and now very strongly considering getting one of these, especially since I quite liked the keyboard and Braille modules as well.

Um, I guess Windows apps on #GitHub that were using Minionguyjpro/Inno-Setup-Action to automatically build #InnoSetup installer packages are in trouble.
I was just using this yesterday, and all of a sudden it seems both the repo and user have been deleted. https://github.com/Minionguyjpro/Inno-Setup-Action -

liebes Fediverse,

@etienne @silmathoron Yes I have actively used Matrix in the past, with the server running as a Docker container on a VPS. It was pretty awesome for the most part, and I even contributed some accessibility fixes to the Element client app on iOS. Was not aware of these latest shenanigans, quite unfortunate for sure. #Matrix is still an open protocol though, and you can use other server implementations such as #Dendrite. https://github.com/element-hq/dendrite

Yesterday I released my #Django OAuth2 provider for #VATSIM on GitHub and PyPI. Though it's only a small project I learned quite a lot of new stuff along the way besides gaining a better understanding of the OAuth2 flow, such as how Python packaging works and how to use GitHub Actions for automated testing and release publishing. Feedback is most appreciated from anyone deciding to check this out, as I’m sure there's still lots of room for improvements here and there.

After some research, looks like #TelemetryDeck might be what I want. Seems like their emphasis on privacy is very high, most articles in their docs seem to have a section on how to preserve users’ privacy and guidelines on sensible data protection purposes. Their iOS SDK is also open-source so it is possible to double-check that they aren't secretly collecting additional data from devices, and their API for programatically fetching telemetry seems really extensive as well. Will probably give them a try unless someone has a better suggestion, or in case there are any specific reasons not to go with them that I’m not aware of.

I’m currently looking for a #HTTP #proxy that can be used to debug requests being sent to a REST API that is compatible with macOS and VoiceOver accessible. In general I know that #Fiddler and #CharlesProxy are popular options, but they were pretty much unusable with VO when I last checked some time ago. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!
