A fun aside: I used the first hour of this show as the basis for Radio M S06E01 (a Vintage episode set in 1986!), right down to the exact playlist and most of the same backannounces.

40 years ago this weekend, I (really!) wrote, produced, and aired a deep 3-hour #collegeradio audio documentary about the new music of 1985. The only surviving copy was in poor quality, so I've remastered it but kept everything the same as it was then, and I've added a new short intro. Themed segments, label spotlights, breakthrough acts, and more.

It's the next morning, and I'm still mouth-agape from last night's #InsideNo9. Their twists are legendary, but this one was sooooo far out there, and it delivered a very powerful message about authoritarianism. And I haven't even mentioned Steve Pemberton as a very convincing (and bitter) drag queen! Find it, and set aside 28 minutes (yes, it's only a half-hour) to watch uninterrupted.
I think it's fair to say this is the best half-hour of TV I've seen so far this year.

The US adaptation of #gameshow #RaidtheCage, aka #EscapePerfecto, took out most of the risk and fun of the original version, supposedly because otherwise "it wouldn't work in prime time." Yet the Argentina nightly prime-time version continues to be the #2 most watched show in the country every night, and it plays according to the classic rules.
