does anyone go through old metal albums and do home remastering?
as in, do you open it up in your DAW and cut or boost any problem frequencies?
for instance, Entombed's Left Hand Path is fantastic, but the HM-2 chainsaw grind (which I love! don't get me wrong!) absolutely destroys my ability to comfortably listen. so I'm gonna (soon?) go through and bulk export these with a 3.5 dB cut at around 3.3 kHz, and maybe boost everything between 50 and 90 Hz by 4ish dB.
I am Too Young to know about old analogue hardware, but it feels like if it weren't an artistic choice then maybe that studio's monitors didn't fully represent the dynamics of their signal, so it sounds like grating shrieking on today's hardware.

Today's activity I think (I hope) will be how to properly set up Anki both on my computer and phone. The settings and UIs are, to put it politely, overwhelmingly disorganized chaos.
I don't know enough about spaced repetition learning for "optimal deck settings" to set it up correctly anyway so I need to watch a few videos >:(

Line 6 updated the Helix family with a few new amps and one of them is the EVH 5150III.
I'm not giving it away but I tested a first draft of settings against what I've been using (also won't say :blobfox3c: but I'll just say "it's a very [or was] polarizing effects unit"
