Breezy Weather (A powerful, open-source Material Design weather app.)

Question: Is anyone here familiar with the #ERA5 dataset used for the climate data at #OpenMeteo ?
I intend to use it for the local elections for my local #Green Party chapter, by visualizing local climatic changes. And I need to be ready for arguments on the lines of:
"This data is interpolated, therefore not real and thus can be dismissed!"
Thus, if there are any good, accessible explanations that summarize how the dataset was created, I would appreciate it. Bonus points if they are in German!

Aloha.
#OpenWeatherMap schraubt an seiner #API herum... was zunächst nach schlichtem Update von v2.5 auf v3.0 erscheint, erfordert allerdings nicht nur technische Änderungen, sondern auch vertragliche. Enttäuschender Eindruck. "Open" ist da immer weniger.
Frage mich, was das für Auswirkungen auf Apps hat, die aktuell auf OWM setzen.
Ich arbeite für meine Nutzung an einer Umstellung auf #OpenMeteo... die sympathischerweise auch im #Fediverse vertreten sind: @[email protected]
Damit sollte beispielsweise @[email protected] u.a. rechtzeitig genug umgestellt werden können. -

Cairo dock
Log data is vital. The weather applet on my Cairo dock gives a descriptive error log when it can't reach the OpenMeteo server API. You can see the full explanation here

Jetzt werden hier endlich unaufdringlich (!) Wetter- und ÖPNV-Daten an der Wand im Flur angezeigt 🥳 Inklusive ÖPNV-Echtzeitdaten und präzisen Prognosen des @DeutscherWetterdienst 👍
Ein schönes Bastelprojekt neigt sich dem Ende zu und geht damit in den täglichen und hoffentlich wartungsfreien Produktivbetrieb über 🙂
Die Lernkurve war für mich als nicht-Programmierer ziemlich steil, aber mit dem Ergebnis bin ich zufrieden. Windrichtungen ergänze ich noch, das Feld unten links bleibt erst einmal für Systemwarnungen reserviert/leer.
Dank esp32-Mikroprozessor und E-Ink-Display erwarte ich eine lange Akkulaufzeit, das muss sich aber noch zeigen.
Danke an @openmeteo und @transitous für die tollen Schnittstellen!

I should note that you can not make the mistake of comparing KDEconnect extended capabilities with those of localsend.
They operate on totally different realms.
KDEconnect has a set of plugins which work like functional libraries. There so many that I will have to include a screenshot, just to give you a sample of what KDEconnect can actually do.
Local follows The Unix Principle; it does One thing in a does it very well.
In case you've gotten curious; you can install KDEconnect with its accompanying libraries on another working environment apart from KDE. You do not need to run a full KDE Desktop Environment.
Over here I run KDEconnect on machines which have Xfce4 running, while it's counterpart runs on a couple of Androids.
KDEconnect also runs on Ancient Android Operating SystemsThe programming team of KDE does not care where you run it's wonderful software as long as you can enjoy it.
The same goes for The GNOME programming team. I run Cairo Dock ** and GPartED also on Xfce4. In fact I run many Gnome libraries in Xfce4 to have crucial functionality in many parts of the Xfce4 Desktop Environment. Without those wonderful libraries I would run a crippled version of Xfce4.
I have include screenshots from one of my energy efficient desktop computers where I will show you that I run GNOME software and KDE software in Xfce4 DE
I've just finished configuring the weather applet in Cairo Dock which gets its feed from OpenMeteo (not visible in screencap01)
**Update: Cairo Dock is programmed by it's own dedicated team. They have been doing the awesome work since 2007

Может из-за того, что api лежит у провайдера "Хецнер"?

Just finished downloading 300 GB GRIB files. A scientists worst nightmare data format (jk). The result: a simple river discharge / global flood API. Based on #GloFAS: https://open-meteo.com/en/docs/flood-api
Looking at flood data for #Cologne, you can clearly see the #flood of the river #Rhein last year July.
The full time series shows previous floods with the same intensity in 2011, 1995 and 1993.
he river discharge reanalysis data has just been released on 16. November by the European GloFAS project.

I had to change the weather data provider from Open-Meteo to Openweathermap in
#linuxmint #cinnamon #weatherapplet.
The weather applet showed "Service Error" for Open-Meteo.
Surprising side effects:
Location "Davos" was changed to "Bolgen",
Location "Locarno Monti" was changed to "Solduno".
I had to fiddle around with the longitude and latitude settings for those cities.
I had success with "Davos" but not with "Solduno".
Accessing the website of openweathermap.org, the shown location "Solduno" was not found but Locarno was.
I used the shown latitude and longitude values for Locarno on their website in the configuration settings of the weatherapplet and now ieverything is well, again. -

I have reworked RetroBBS's Weather plugin, it now uses open-meteo.com API, displays.
It now have an optional second screen displaying the temperature curve for the next 7 days.
Additionally, if the terminal supports drawing commands, the curve will be drawn on the terminal side instead of prerendered on the BBS.Video shows the new features on an emulated Plus/4
