The #SpaceShuttle used hyoergolics for the RCS and OMS. They had a cleaning procedure that had to take place after touchdown and before the hatch was opened.

I'm guessing the sea takes care of that.

I know the Russians have non-hypergolic RCS, (somehow) using gaseous kerosene, but I dont know about anything else.

Wikipedia says the service module uses hyoergolic fuel, but doesn't talk about the capsule's RCS fuel.

This article implies the capsule uses hypergolics, but it's not very clear: https://trendsmask.com/how-much-fuel-is-in-the-orion-capsule-532483.html

I came close to getting into RC several times in my life, but motos were always there, taking my energy.

I decided to keep RC on the back burner, for when I couldn't or didn't want to ride any longer.

I still ride, but I started getting into RC almost 5 years ago so maybe I'd be proficient enough to really enjoy it.

It's been a rough patch last couple years without much activity but I'm getting back into it.

  8. If you use a suitably obscure hashtag it introduces you to other similarly obscure but totally different groups trying to use the same hashtag.

I've thought about going all aggro to assert dominance and claim a hashtag, but... no seriously I'd not do that WTF 🤣

    Anyway.

You too can look like a total nutter and throw small planes up in the air and fly them around. If you get good you can fly them around for near as long as you want off a couple throws.

I've found if I'm the only one using a particular hashtag it's not so flash.

  10. The wing is a paper thin layer of carbon fiber, lightly adhered to a foam core. So no processes can be at all aggressive. I've considered covering it with frisket paper but I'm not liking the idea of having to peel it off.
I can and likely will tape on a bit of thin PP document folder and apply color to that to try.

    Any suggestions welcome....

  11. I've got an artistic/graphic/image question.

Below is shown a pic of an RC plane wing, with a hexagonal graphic pattern. In stark contrast to the pic, in real life the contrast of the blue and purple to the black is not enough.

My scheme is to modify it such that it becomes lighter by way of added color, also gaining a cool 3-D look. Like the other picture, of the hexagonal tiles.

But I do not have the skillset to figure out where to apply the color and how much of what.
And I'd like it to look nice and I'd like to only have to do it once....

Can it be done with white highlights? Are there paint pens that aren't solvent based that I could experiment with?

    I use the 6" as a center on a normal scale 🤷‍♂️
But I'm doing very little of that, I'm not really a woodworker.

    Flexible plastic is nice.
Perhaps I would see how nice it all was if I used it.

This is why we need some sort of investigative team to find out how and why this happened.

I've legit been in company meetings deciding this sort of thing and it has to go past *so* many eyes, and virtually all of the eyes once were in 10 YO boys.

You can call me Nick, no worries. 😁

No, I've not seen a complete DLG plane that's 3D printed.
To my knowledge, there's power planes and slope planes, but I think that's it.

A friend just did some 3D molds and is using them to construct a fairly conventional fuselage from carbon fiber and such, I'd have to look back but I think he's already done the tails with 3D molds. He's going to try wings, and he does lots of jigs for drilling and shaping holes.

You should get one if you don't have one!

It's quite interesting, if it's your thing.

    Seems to only interest guys.
I've not yet been able to completely explain that in my head. There are lots of guys in it that are not builders, one can buy complete ready to fly planes from $100 to $Xk and some do.
