When I encounter longer blog post, I might send it to Kindle for reading. So there goes a request from my mobile to some Amazon server on the other side of the world, which downloads a website, extracts content and wraps it in “ebook” format. Then I download this file back.
If we consider climate impact of software seriously, I should be able to do the same locally and send using Bluetooth, and Amazon would never know I actually did that.
