@linuxaudioplugindevelopment - update: #AKAI support reached back and while they confirmed no official Linux support, from our cordial exchange about possible Linux support my interpretation is that they would be open to it especially if there was customer feedback in support of it. Like with plugin developers), if anyone wants to reach out to them and support this, the more the merrier.
Of course I underline the fact that it's *my personal interpretation* of the convo with support ;-)

@linuxaudioplugindevelopment I know you are all about plugins, but what about software to configure hardware which in 99% of cases is Mac and Windows only?
For example I asked #AKAI (inMusic) about how their Pro Midimix can be configuerd beyond 'standard' set-ups for DAWs and they confirmed their 'software editor' is for 'MAC OS or Windows' and recommended I use these operating systems.
I'm not sure if writing to customer support for these larger manufacturers would be effective though :-/

A couple of minutes ago, "Linux Audio Plugin Development" (LAPD) became "Linux Audio Development" (LAD). 😎
This allows us to focus on more than just #plugin (s) and also cover DAWs, specialized audio #linuxsoftware, and #linuxhardware support in the future.

I’ve just completed the initial transition from LAPD to LAD. 😎
I’ll be publishing an article about it in the coming days and will continue refining the content to cover not only #plugin (s), but also other #audiosoftware and even #audiohardware for #linuxaudio.
If you notice anything that could use adjustment, please let me know. 🫣
PD: I haven’t been able to update the Mastodon handle yet — still waiting for feedback from my instance admin.

Perhaps "inspired" by #clap (😜), #steinberg made #vst3 #opensource about a week ago using the #mit license.
This allows #developer (s) to create VST3 #plugin (s) without the previous licensing restrictions from Steinberg, and it aims to encourage more community-driven development and Open Source projects.
#asio, another Steinberg technology, has been open sourced as well.
