@britishcomposers @malcolmarnold At this year's #malcolmarnold festival Dominic Wheeler, Head of Opera Studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama gave a talk on the #dancingmaster. He commented on Malcolm's talent for writing opera in the Italian style and for understanding how to have groups of people singing different things at different times but still all be heard. #malcomarnold did study for a while in Italy after winning the Mendelssohn scholarship in 1948
