@joelanman Yep. That's one of the reasons why, after reviewing #Figma , we rejected it, and advised everyone to do the same. We want an #accessibleweb . Figma should be an #a11y . They are perfectly positioned to lead the way. And they choose differently.

@joelanman #TimSpector ranting on about it and then launching his own #Zoe range of #UPFs is another fab example

@joelanman My favourite Youtube/Google #deceptivepattern: only way to log into a work Google account (even .gov.uk!) is redirecting via acount.youtube.com (so admins can't block YT), and by default that sends a notification to my personal iPad Youtube App (that has 0 work accounts set up, and where I don't log into YT).

Made a template prototype repo with the GOV.UK Prototype Kit - easy to clone in online code editors like GitHub Codespaces or StackBlitz. Useful if your machine is locked down and can't install the Prototype Kit.

@joelanman Excellent, thanks for sharing. I wholeheartedly agree with you! 💯
The excuses given to not deliver accessible solutions are quite frankly horse shit and won’t hold up in court. Literally. Section 508 and similar legislation worldwide is not voluntary or something that can be left as an afterthought.
One more point I don’t think you mentioned about disability: It can be situational, temporary, and affect everyone once or more during their life.
Microsoft’s “Inclusive Design” describes and tackles this in a holistic, proactive, and commendable way, imho.

@joelanman … so, checking my 🔖 bookmarks - I might have been confused between this resource on #SupervisedLearning > https://www.ibm.com/topics/supervised-learning - and this document on everyday #Ethics for 🤖 #AI > https://www.ibm.com/watson/assets/duo/pdf/everydayethics.pdf.
Hopefully some more useful responses incoming. 😆

@joelanman - I remember reading some work done by #IBM on #SupervisedLearning for #AI/#ML and ethical implications - will see if I can find the links. 👀
Interested to see other's responses to this question. 🙂

@joelanman Finally started #HollowKnight for the first time this week. Having a great time with it. Also been replaying #FinalFantasyVIIRemake, and hopping into #CrisisCoreReunion next.

Extremely useful - you can search your own posts using 'from:me', eg 'from:me dogs'. It may depend on your instance and whether you're opted in to search, not sure

What's so important about GOV.UK Forms is how thoughtfully they're going about it. So for example the editor UI is simple and accessible. And it's opinionated - it helps users who don't have a lot of experience with tech or design produce good quality forms.
