I've been working with VMware for much of the past 20 years, and with Broadcom now...meeeeh. If anything good has come of this situation, I'm forcing myself for the first time to explore XCP-NG, Proxmox, and Xen and KVM in general more seriously. So far I'm really impressed with what XCP-NG has become, and Xen Orchestrator seems to be heading in the right direction.
So, any Fosstodon-ers out there have thoughts and experience on Vates and XCP-NG in general? #vmware #virtualization #xcp-ng

I know #AltSpace meant a lot to those who were active there over the years, so it's sad to see it go. I only visited every so often for fun and exploration, and occasionally for professional "meetups" but it was a solid virtual space option.
If something like this can't survive "the Metaverse" I think we're going to be hard pressed to see another version broadly accepted any time soon.

@jemmesedi Overall, I'm sure it will grow on me. Like @pixelcats I see this as part of the whole aespa evolution, and how it works with the other songs on the album. As a standalone it lacks stuff that I love in other aespa title tracks - a ripping bass line, soaring vocals by Ningning and Winter, and some kind of build up, or key changes to add some excitement. But I respect the aesthetic choice to stay minimalistic.

@jemmesedi The vocals are mostly rapping or speak singing. We don't get any Winter/Ningning pyrotechnics. I didn't really feel a lot of build up - it really just repeats and gets a little more intense and thick as it goes. We have the G-Dragon rap which sounds good, and the music switches up a bit. And I like the post-chorus (?) thing where they say: "Give me all smoke. Gunpowder powder hey woah. Hey."

Sounds very much like an aespa song. Thematically, visually and sonically it fits in with other title tracks like Next Level, Savage, Dirty Work, etc. Sound is very minimal - just that spooky repetitive riff that doesn't change much. They add in some cool percussion, violin sounds, etc. at different points.

-- Some Kpop fans here might think I am a dogmatic hater of rapping. This is not the case. I think of rap in Kpop as being like a spice; a little of it, as here from SinB and Umji, makes the dish so tasty, but I cannot stomach a whole bowl of it.
-- All three members look beautiful here, but my bias Eunha is so gorgeous that the fancam MUST be posted.

After going back and forth about how big or small my #BestOfKpop2025 list should be, I decided to revert to my original plan and just post my Song Of The Year.
As you can see from the linked post that I wrote in June, I love "The Chase" so much , and I never tire of watching this stage.
