I've always heard the full expression (when people used it) was, "Like the fifth wheel on a wagon." If the wagon is the object, "fifth wheel" is the correct term for "superfluous".

  2. I'm really liking both timelines in #silo this season, but I find the combination jarring. Like, every switch , I'm like, "Welp, I guess we're watching a whole different show now" 🤷‍♂️

  3. Just finished Paul Tremblay's "Dead but Dreaming of Electric Sheep" and I really appreciated the Dalí-esque surrealist second-person chapters, which a) prove that human creativity can come up with things AI never would, and b) will fuck up any AI trained on it without consent #amreading #amreadinghorror #horror

  13. I finished Angel Down by Daniel Kraus today. I knew it was literary horror, which is not normally my cup of tea. I expected to be impressed, and to appreciate it, but not really like it. I ended up being pleasantly surprised. It's a great story and the literary elements really worked for me. I even liked the way it was all written as a single sentence, which sounded gimmicky to me, but turns out to be for a reason, and it mostly worked. Anyway, worth a read! #amreading #amreadinghorror #horror

  18. Just reread Pet Sematary for the first time since I was, like, 13. It's funny how things stick with you long after you remember what it's from. Whenever I'm digging a hole for gardening or whatever, I always think about how there won't be enough dirt to fill it back in, and I had totally forgotten that was about grave dirt.

  28. My favorite part about this Incredicoaster pic is how stone-cold @nicegnome is. She's all, "What. Come back and talk to me when you have a real rollercoaster to ride." #disneyland #californiaadventurepark #incredicoaster
