I just released version 0.5.0 of rsop, a stateless #OpenPGP ("SOP") CLI tool based on @rpgp:
https://crates.io/crates/rsop/
The major change in this release is that OpenPGP card support is removed from rsop, it is now available separately in rsop-oct (see https://fosstodon.org/@hko/113699545218931267)
For more on #SOP, see https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-dkg-openpgp-stateless-cli/

@hko @maros @nullagent true!
I have spent some time documenting the ones we package in the #ArchWiki :
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Stateless_OpenPGP
I am really happy that some implementations like #rsop also have #OpenPGP card support 😉

Over the last half year, I've spent time with PKCS #11 and PIV hardware security devices. In particular, using such devices in the #OpenPGP context.
Entry points for results of this work:
- https://codeberg.org/heiko/openpgp-piv
- https://codeberg.org/heiko/pkcs11-openpgp-notesOne particular focus was building CI testing infrastructure (including https://gitlab.com/hkos/virtual-piv/), to make future work on these codebases easier (and hopefully fun).

.@HKOnScreen’s 2023 Film Festival will be April 26-30 in LA, the Bay Area & San Diego. The biggest film fest in the US focused on #HongKong. Especially important to HK culture when #FilmCensorship in HK is at its worst ever. https://www.hkonscreen.org/festival https://nitter.hongkongers.net/hkdc_us/status/1643252856953135104#m

@hko or maybe you meant that I could, for example, build my own version of #searchtodon and just not put it out publicly but still be indexing data in the same way? Also true, and as far as nefarious actors go this is the real threat.

@hko Absolutely—but only if that data is marked as such. I think the thrust of what the article at #searchtodon was getting at was that we need far better ways of indicating these things in the fediverse; the point I'm trying to get at is that people have unreasonable expectations that social conventions are going to be followed in precisely the same manner (or even at all) all over a technosphere.

We have just released the first version of voa-core, a #RustLang library for access to verifiers in #VOA structures. 🎁 🦀
https://crates.io/crates/voa-core/0.1.0
VOA, short for "File Hierarchy for the Verification of OS Artifacts", is a way of providing and using verifiers for digital signatures in a stateless manner, for various cryptographic technologies:
https://uapi-group.org/specifications/specs/file_hierarchy_for_the_verification_of_os_artifacts/Thanks to @hko for his work on this and an upcoming #OpenPGP backend! 🥳

Together with @hko I have worked on the "File Hierarchy for the Verification of OS Artifacts" (#VOA) in 2024 and 2025.
This #STF ( @sovtechfund ) funded #specification and #ReferenceImplementation (🦀) enables technology and distribution agnostic verification of OS artifacts.
In this #blog post we are looking into the #verification of #ArchLinux artifacts, using the `voa` #CLI and its #OpenPGP backend:

Together with @hko @j-g00da, @orhun and @Nukesor I have been working on the #ALPM and #VOA projects in 2024 and 2025.
This #SovereignTechFund ( @sovtechfund ) funded work has recently come to a close.
You can read all about what was achieved and plans for future work on the #ArchLinux #devblog: https://devblog.archlinux.page/2026/a-year-of-work-on-the-alpm-project/

Today we have also created the first release of voa-openpgp, a #RustLang library for the use of #OpenPGP verifiers in #VOA hierarchies. 📦 🦀
https://crates.io/crates/voa-openpgp/0.1.0
In this first release we have focused on the use case of importing #OpenPGP certificates to a #VOA hierarchy.
As a special treat, this enables direct import of #ArchLinux keyring structures.

Many thanks to @hko @Nukesor and @orhun for the thorough reviews 🎉

Kyä on muuten vaikea löytää semmoista arkista esinettä kuin #noppa'a eli #arpakuutio'ta mistään kaupasta! Löysin lopulta #Normal'ista (se pissisten kauppa) halva(hko)n Yatzy-pelin, joka pakkauksessa lupaili kuutta noppaa. Itse peliä en edes tarvitse, mutta noppia kyllä. Tulevat opetuskäyttöön. #opettaminen #työjuttuja
