Some of you may not be aware, but I started a new and innovative approach to qualitative data analysis - using emoji for analysis.
I will be running a free 2hr workshop on using emoji for analysis on the 22nd/23rd of November, demonstrating with Quirkos software.
If you want to get to the heart of what analysis is about, what to understand the purpose of coding and analysis of data, and think outside the box of more traditional forms of analysis, then you are likely to get a lot out of this session.
There will be a special appearance from *the* emoji expert @superlinguo, and @drdanielturner will be hosting the session.
Last time it booked out very quickly, so do register if interested.
I would really appreciate it if you shared this with your network. Thank you everyone!

Yup, GenAI is really bad at qualitative analysis:
"LLM chatbots consistently failed to code the data efficiently, accurately, reliably and comprehensively, or identify meaningful themes. ChatGPT, and the Qual-AI products built on it, are simply not designed nor fine-tuned to perform even the lower-order analytical tasks of searching and coding text"

Checked if updates were needed on my article from 18 months ago on why 'AI' tools for qualitative analysis are a terrible idea, and nope, all the points still apply!
