A year ago, I was really upset that I wasnt going to be able to be a dev after my apprenticeship fell through.
Today, seeing all the decent companies I knew fall for AI and anger their userbase, I think I made a lucky escape.
I still whsh I could code, but till the buble bursts and all this nonsense goes away, I'll stick to my new management role, thanks.

Just reached the end of part 3 of Oathbringer and... Oof. 😟
It was another one of those "'just one chapter before bed' - 4 chapters later" deals that this series is so good at.
Anyway, time for bed, where I'm listening to The Way of Kings as a night time story 😆

My new keeb arrived yesterday. I've had to fiddle around with the key layout a bit (it wanted backspace to be on the right hand under M key) and a few others, but I'll get it working.
Vial.rocks doesn't seem to want to work, but the app does. Its less intuitive than ZSA's Oryx, but I'm sure I'll work it out. Need to get used to no tenting though 😬
'Scuse the mess

Had a good day with my eldest. We went to the National Museum Of Computers at legendary Bletchley Park. I've been before, but he hadn't.
Despite his anxiety, he lasted a couple of hours which was better than I expected.

I've been a little naughty and gone and got myself a new Keyboard. I'll soon be the owner of a Lily58 with Choc lowprokb ambiant twilights with a carry case.
I wanted a ZSA Voyager, but didn't want to pay twice (once for purchase, second for import) and the Lilly seemed a good compromise (and cheaper).
Just a little nervous about tenting, but I'll give it a go.

Just read a couple of chapters of Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson and whilst I won't spoil it...
I'm not crying, you're crying! 😭 -
I was going to go for a walk today. A big one to really tire me out, but its raining, and a lot of where I was going to walk will be muddy, so I walked into town for shopping and on the way home stopped in the pub for a drink and read.
Also did my first BuJo monthly migration. Looking good, and have definitely noticed a difference in my head about using BuJo. Now I just need to keep it up.

I finally got round to sending my statement and evidence about the accident at work I had in November (fell down an open drain left by a contractor).
Writing it, I realised why I'd put off for so long: the anxiety I've felt about my CRPS returning because of the injury to my foot and leg. I made it abundantly clear that this was the main mental anguish I've been suffering since November. Not to mention the physical pain every time I walk.

I've been thinking a lot today that I might go back to a Bullet Journal.
Now I'm an important boss man (🤣), I've been writing todos and notes on random post it notes and its getting a bit silly. Today, I had training and wrote the notes on a scrap piece of paper which will most likely get lost, where as I could put that all in a BuJo, right? Right!?
Convince me I don't need a BuJo, and suggest something else.
Or convince me I do and it will make my life easier.

The most frustrating thing about IT is having to travel many miles for an emergency change someone raised.
That emergency change? Plugging in a USB cable so people could print from the network printer till a software update is done early next year. A. Smegging. Cable!
Today has been one of those days. Twice! Then people wander why IT Technicians are grumpy.

Dear gods!
We've been having issue imaging one particular laptop recently. Its brand new from Dell, and keeps failing at all three sites at various stages.
Our infrastructure engineer who's looking into fixing this is literally vibe coding the problem. He's just said "I fed the logs to Co-Pilot and it says there's no errors and should build fine".
My guy! If we wanted useless comments, we'd ask the wall! Fix the problem, don't make it worse!

Just finished Words of Radiance. Amazing book, i love it. I can't wait to start book three, but think I'll have a light break with a Discworld book next, and start Oathbringer in the new year.

You know when you're reading a book (especially in a series) and most of your suspicions are validated as being true, and you fall in love with the characters even more?
I had to tear myself away from Words of Radiance because its gone midnight. My heart is genuinely thumping and I'm a little breathless I was so caught up in it. I was reading it like 😬
I won't spoil it, but... Ooof, *what* a book! 😮💨

So it turns out that my bank doesn't like Lineage OS. But they allow me to use the app on a tablet that is 5 years out of date and hasn't had a security update since Huawei was expelled from Google.
Where is the logic?
I'm moving to a different bank who isn't so peculiar.
PS: my tablet is safe enough. Its behind my VPN and 🤷♂️, I'm leaving the app.

Despite feeling exhausted after work, I went back to CS50 (after a week off). Took me several minutes to remember what the smeg I was doing, but after a couple of hours, had the solution submitted. I was driving myself crazy, but made it harder than it needed to he so 🤦🏻♂️.
Wednesday, I'll move on to the final project for Week 2, which seems pretty difficult, but we'll see.

Had a long reading session today: 2 ¾ hours. Finished part 2 of Words of Radiance.
Wow, what a section! These books are so good, they're more fun than TV! -
Well, I'm pretty chuffed. After an absolute nightmare of it last week, I finally got back to the 2nd week problem for CS50 - Caesar cipher.
Took me 90 minutes and its submitted! What a difference a rest makes! Glad thats behind me. And I finished the notes for week 1 yesterday, so Wednesday I can move on to week 3! 🥳
