@DodoTheDev I'm really gutted for you to see this, it represents a really poor job by the person who sold you the course. Apprenticeships are in work training towards a particular role, if you're not in (a trainee version of) that role, it's not really a valid programme.
I'd imagine that #SkillsEngland would take a pretty dim view of the way it seems you've been led up the garden path - was there no 'initial assessment' to qualify your role and shape your training plan?

@DodoTheDev in respect to mobile, I guess it depends on what you’re doing with the mobile client? Mostly viewing or you need to edit too?
Syncthing should solve syncing any type of non virtual file, and now has an astounding iOS client. If you write in markdown any client should do on iOS for basic editing, and there are couple of org clients for basic editing or task management (orgro, scratch, plain org, journelly, beorg). I rarely edit on my phone.
Emacs learning curve can be mitigated by starting with a configuration framework like doom or other. It’s not different than learning any other new software you pick up. Hopefully not being to use Ctl-c Ctl-v in emacs is not a showstopper, though there’s a package for that too…
The return on the initial investment in learning #emacs is unmeasurable. Just have a look at the expanding ecosystem of #ai packages to start with… from #gptel to ollama-buddy etc.

"Wait... What?!"
"No smegging way!"
"Dalinar! No!"
"Omg..."

Today is a sad Jazz day:
Its Miles Davis' centenary, and Sonny Rollins died. The radio already gave me some Rollins, so tonight, while I'm cooking, I'll put on one of my Davis LP's in his honour.

A year ago, I was really upset that I wasnt going to be able to be a dev after my apprenticeship fell through.
Today, seeing all the decent companies I knew fall for AI and anger their userbase, I think I made a lucky escape.
I still whsh I could code, but till the buble bursts and all this nonsense goes away, I'll stick to my new management role, thanks.

Just reached the end of part 3 of Oathbringer and... Oof. 😟
It was another one of those "'just one chapter before bed' - 4 chapters later" deals that this series is so good at.
Anyway, time for bed, where I'm listening to The Way of Kings as a night time story 😆

I give thanks to the NHS today, on its 75th birthday. If it weren't for the NHS, I wouldn't be 39, I would most likely have died shortly after birth due to a heart defect.
My second son would have likely died of #Meningitis at 4 months old.
If it weren't for the NHS, I'd either be dead or in perpetual debt to repay the hospital bills.

I was going to go for a walk today. A big one to really tire me out, but its raining, and a lot of where I was going to walk will be muddy, so I walked into town for shopping and on the way home stopped in the pub for a drink and read.
Also did my first BuJo monthly migration. Looking good, and have definitely noticed a difference in my head about using BuJo. Now I just need to keep it up.
