There are two things we could do to totally transform the UK.
1. Electoral reform. Starmer’s biggest failure is not using his huge majority to get that sorted.
2. A law criminalising ’deliberately or recklessly misleading the public’. We have to get truth back into politics and public discourse. If electors don’t know the truth, their votes are meaningless and democracy is dead.
Everything else we need to do follows from those two changes.

One of the alternatives would be to use military force (or diplomacy "= the threat of military force") to make the places those #refugees fled from or left much safer and nicer with good social security, health services, and employment.
So people would not need to flee or expect to be better off by leaving.
But this, apart from being severely unfashionable, would be onerous, dangerous, colonial, expensive, and the reverse of what the main users of force find to be fun.
Ho hum.

There many things wrong with #Palentir. My understnading is that:1) its COE is a weirdo with weird and dangerous ideas
2) Its owner is a #fascist
3) Palentir is used widely by security and spy agencies
4) The word is that Palentir reserves its ‘right of access’ to all ‘metadata’ in the systems it installs.. and that leads to… let your imagination run wild.
5) Theil, the owner is a strong supporter of #tRump and a #billionaireIf that’s not enough. There’s probably more like high costs, software security issues, reliabilty & accuracy of results, and imbedded Palentir staff working with sensitive data. Etc.

@ChrisMayLA6 The issue that remains, and one that Labour and Conservatives are responsible for, is the failure to end the abuse of the media. Its coverage serves as a parasite maximalising the extraction of capital. It does that by amplifying the rights of those who benefit from inequality and injustice, hence the gaslighting and projection of Reform! #MediaBias

@ChrisMayLA6 I don't want to live in a #political #economy where "bond vigilantes" dictate #policy - insist on #austerity, low #taxation of the #wealthy, minimum #regulation of #business, & restrictive #monetary policy to combat #inflation. I'll only get my way when #Capitalism is replaced by #socialism, or (rather more likely) the whole of #industrial #civilisation collapses. The latter will bring its own problems!
