  1. Android's strength was its decentralized nature. Google's plan to mandate central registration for every single app developer destroys that. We must resist this centralization of power. @keepandroidopen keepandroidopen.org

  2. Fun With :

When I lived in New Jersey I would occasionally have this weird sleep issue involving the curtains. Basically I'd be partway to sleep, or I'd have been asleep for a little while and wake up, and either way I'd be viscerally freaked out- racing pulse, fast breathing, you name it- because my brain was absolutely convinced that there was a mouse running up my bedroom curtains.

  3. Fun With #parasomnia :

  13. Disclosure: I've had sleep weirdness most of my life. I scared my grandfather by #sleepwalking as a kid. I talk in my sleep periodically. I've been informed that I have little fits of muscle jerking in my sleep- two twitches, then I go still, then a while later two twitches again. Apparently I had a period where I'd occasionally sit up, look around, make confused noises, and then slowly lie back down without a single word, but I never remember that in the morning.

  14. I bought some #hillssciencediet k/d canned food, both the large cans with #pate texture in chicken flavor and the single serving cans in chicken with veggies. She ate one can of the single serve a bit reluctantly, licked the second before turning up her nose at it, and left the paté from the big can to just dry up rather than eat it. She made an attempt at the tuna flavor but then gave up on it.

  15. Today's discoveries:
    - AFLAC does cancer insurance for Mass. residents
    - So does Mutual of Omaha
    - Boston Helicopters is perfectly happy to get rusty student pilots back on track but does suggest they get their medical certificate first so as not to waste time and money if they no longer qualify
    - The two pieces of fabric I bought in Italy to make souvenir clothes from are not super fine cotton, they're *silk*

  16. I finished my nibling's quilt in time for Christmas! don't know how long piecing the top together took, but the total time spent making the quilt sandwich, basting it, quilting it together, and binding it was about twelve hours. Here's the end result.
