As for my own trait cluster, I'm an introvert-leaning ambivert, herbal tea drinker, cat lover/owner (we have 3 cats, all feral rescues), and, as is obvious from my username 🤣, (multi-genre) writer. I play more sports than I watch, the primary exceptions to the latter being the Olympics & occasional live sporting events attendance. While I enjoy the rare cup of decaf (be it coffee or tea), my system operates best caffeine-free. #catlover #cats #teadrinker #tea #ambivert #introvert #personality

The terms #HSP and #empath are NOT interchangeable or mutually exclusive. It's possible to be one without being the other, or one can be both. The primary distinction between the two? Stimulation sensitivity (HSP) vs. energy absorption from ppl and places (empath). Most HSPs and empaths are #introverts.

@lj Agreed! I'm an #ambivert but, even so, find cons to be both exhilarating and exhausting all at once. With the rush of energy swirling around the venue, it's no wonder ppl have a tendency to try to cram as many panels / events as possible into their rosters.🤣 That's so true about #lobbycon! Even so, I have to remind myself to slow down & take some downtime in between panels to recharge. Lunch & dinner breaks are good for that, too. Same goes for after-parties but only if they're chilled.😀

I know more than a few #introverted #writers (who shall remain nameless 😂) who are hesitant about going to #writing #conventions / #conferences. Some have asked me to go as their wingwoman since I'm an #ambivert & can be outgoing when I want to be.🤣 Here's what I've said to these #writer / #author pals, which I'll repeat here for the benefit of anyone who needs to hear it: "Remember that MANY of these writers are ALSO #introverts & feel a lot of the same things YOU are feeling." #writercommunity

--#Introvert, mostly, although I'm technically an #ambivert who leans more heavily toward #introversion these days. (That's a whole other story in & of itself.🤣) Since ANTJ doesn't yet appear as an accepted #MBTI term, that's why I put #INTJ on my profile. It's complicated. In any case, my closest friends are all #introverts. From all the #neuroscience literature that I've read, I'm convinced #personality is more dynamic than ppl think. -
@wildarchaic Yep, I'm familiar with all of those authors/researchers, which probably isn't surprising given our discussion topic.🤣 Based on everything I've learned with regard to #neuroscience, I'd agree with Brian Little that #personality traits are dynamic. Of course, it's possible for #introverts to temporarily shift into #extroversion to accommodate #extroverts. There IS an energy cost to it, but it's possible. It's telling that extroverts rarely do as much work in the other direction.😂

Here's what surprised me most about the results: My bio contains #runner and #marathoner hashtags, so logically, wouldn't it be more likely that a marathoner would've walked 30 miles? Maybe some people missed this?

@luis I'm of the mind that consistency plays a greater role in a #writer's improvement arc than if one were to rely purely upon inspiration, which is inconsistent & cannot be relied upon in the larger scheme of things. On a personal note, I'm a #marathoner, so I compare the #writingprocess to the long haul of #marathontraining since both require showing up (even when one might not feel like doing the work) and pushing through the tough bits.🤣 #persistence #writersofmastodon #authorsofmastodon

Having said that, I actually DO like the taste of coffee, just not its effects. Even decaf does me in, so if I want to have the rare, one-off decaf cap, I make sure to drink it after having food in the tank so that it doesn't cause stomach upset or BSL issues. Also, while I don't have any concrete data to support this, I suspect that it won't be long until scientists will be able to link #HSP to #biochemical and #genetic markers as they apply to food sensitivities. #nutrigenomics
