  5. @MBrandtner ja das ist dann die Hürde. Mit #coolifyio von @andrasbacsai ist es aber nicht mehr ganz so schwer. coolify.io

  6. One thing I got right the first time I had to work on a project was:

    Update Tuesday, Update Thursday.

Never update any other day, especially on weekends. If you do that, expect angry customers. Being "Beta" or "RC" it's not an excuse, but you get a pass on "Alpha" or "WIP".

Don't try to be the next Evel Knievel of Internet.

  7. 🚢 Jean v0.1.51, fixes, Opus 4.8, improvements, workwork.

  8. Shipping day: #2

Jean v1.0.50 with bunch of fixes, new models (like Composer 2.5), improvements, etc.

  9. Shipping day: #1

First release is a brand new docs based on Fumadocs.

Very shiny, very new, very good, very fuma, very cool.

  10. Let's end the week with 4 horrors. 😭
    Chromium, Megalodon, Drupal and bind9

  11. It looks like i have to post about securityhorrors.com everyday.

we have rss feed as well: securityhorrors.com/rss.xml

  12. 🛠️ I am making a new library/service/idk (soon opensource) for our upcoming apps.

I am testing rust + svelte, fully embedded apps for months and they work quite well. they are small, single binary, memory safety, fast and easy to host or even run it on your computer.

imagine if you can test out complex apps on your computer with one command. quite nice experience.

  13. I love Laravel, and I will do apps in it, but sometimes it just does not makes sense. cpu hungry, slower than Rust, hosting is not hard but still harder than a binary (I know about FrankenPHP or similar), etc.

so Pulse will be a Laravel Horizon (job scheduler) + all the missing things of Horizon for Rust.

(the dashboard is just for dev to test out things, atm, it will have a good UI as well)

also, LLM's are good with Rust btw.

  14. 🛠️ Jean v0.1.49

Most important thing is that Jean has a local MCP server, so it can call itself.

Example prompt: auto-investigate the latest 5 Github issues in separate worktrees

And it will spawn 5 worktrees and starts auto-investigating them. 🤯

  15. I don't spend my personal money on useless things, only what is really necessary, mostly for everyone else in the family. 😅
(Btw, I have to learn to spend money on myself!)

So yes, I hired a dev. He is just starting today with a test month to see if everything claps for both of us.

    Have a nice day! 💜

  16. The community was growing like crazy, which is good (cool people) and bad (I need to handle it somehow) at the same time.

I thought that I was doing something wrong because I could not handle things alone.

It took years to realize that I was wrong.

    > This was lesson # 1.

Pieter's advice (and probably everyone's advice, including mine) does not fit all situations. You need to adapt to the exact situation.

    > Btw, this is so true for everything in the world, literally. So important.

  17. That is when I decided to pay people to help me with the community and with development.

Currently, we have 2 mods for the community (GitHub, Discord, emails) and 1 dev.

This is enough for Coolify itself. But I always had a bigger plan.

I call it: The Game Plan. 🤠

It is to make more useful apps and services for everyone, with the same philosophy as Coolify (free, open-source, no paywalls, forever).

But I cannot do it alone, even with an AI boost.

    > This was lesson # 2.

  18. So I decided to pump more money back into the business by paying more people to help me make community-requested apps.

Otherwise, the money just hangs in my business bank account, which doesn't make sense. I rarely take money out of the business for myself, only pay minimum wage to have health insurance, etc. That is ~1000$/m.
So I have a few dollars there.

    > Money is for spending, especially business money.

Business money is not the same as personal money.

    > This was lesson # 3.

  19. TL;DR: So I am leveling up as a businessman and I hired another dev to help me make more community-requested apps for you! 🫡

We have a page ideas.coollabs.io for your ideas but it is very simple atm.
    It will be improved overtime.

    Not TL;DR (with lessons learned):

When I started my entrepreneurial journey, I got inspired by Pieter LEvels to make things alone as an indie dev.

It was working well for a few years, but I quickly realized that I cannot do what I do like that.

  20. I am announcing that I will make an announcement on Monday.

  21. 🚨 New day, new security issue: Node-IPC Supply Chain Attack, Linux Kernel, PostgreSQL

    securityhorrors.com

  22. Shadow, one of my mods, casually made a web based network architecture designer, just to have nice images for our documentation updates.

    wtf

(Oh and its free and opensource)
