I've been in touch with the folks at Native-Land.ca to see about adding India's indigenous (Adivasi) communities to their project. They already have great coverage of North America and Australia (and now Taiwan!).
It's going to be hard -- the Indian government keeps good census data, but not GIS maps that I know of. To help facilitate it, I put together a primer for them with links to some existing resources:

I'm looking for collaborators to pull together map data related to tribal / #Adivasi communities in #SouthAsia and have that added to the Native-Land.ca project.
I have some analog maps to start with like the one below. It's going to take some work to translate these to GIS!
If you have either subject-area expertise or technical expertise (i.e., translating analog maps--> #GIS), I would love to hear from you...

If you're a college president, and you're going to publicly claim you *didn't* actually fire an adjunct instructor for using controversial material legitimately and appropriately ...
... maybe don't also include 500 words in that letter about how you have to "make hard decisions that serve the interests of the entire campus community" ?
Either you made the "hard decision" or you didn't. You can't have it both ways.

I recently saw the news that #EarlyModernStudies scholar Jonathan Goldberg passed away. RIP.
I was lucky enough to take a class with him on colonialism in early modern texts at Duke in the late 1990s. Great class!
I still remember how expertly he tore apart my paper on V.S. Naipaul and Walter Raleigh, noting everything Naipaul was getting wrong about colonial Caribbean history. He helped me see that Naipaul would likely be a waste of my time...
JG's most recent book just came out this fall.

Not sure if there are any #housemusic fans here?
Honey Dijon -- she produced two tracks on Beyoncé's "Renaissance" -- has a new album out called "Black Girl Magic" and it is 🔥. Here's one of my favorite tracks:

Also a nice profile of her last week in the New York Times:
