In general, dried seafood/fish don’t go well with beer (lighter beers sometimes okay) or wine (even white in my opinion). Plain or less fatty fish also don’t go well, either. But cooking fish/seafood with lots of olive oil reduces that bad taste. There are published scientific results from a Japanese brewery investigating the bad aftertaste of fish and wine combination 😉

I also have the yeast hashtag - especially - pombe 😊 but I don’t know much about yeast strains for beer 🤔 I use yeast for my other part of my life - some day, I will try pombe beer 😊 #pombe

  8. An experienced beer shop staff recommended me to try this red ale. I also remembered that @alameth was tooting about red ales🤔
Although I am not comfortable with the horror label design, the beer itself is not bad - I am comfortable bringing this beer to our friend’s house😄
Malty and bready, but still very hoppy like IPA. Also, the beer head is very frothy and looks great. This seems to work as an introduction to red ale for someone like me 😊
Goes well with dark chocolate 😋

  9. I think this is why Buddhist monks lived so long. Only the hardiest specimens survived these stairs.

    In Koishikawa Kōrakuen Garden (小石川後楽園).

  10. #Walking the Okōchi Sansō #Garden, #Arashiyama, #Kyoto, #Japan. The place is absolutely beautiful, but considering its size, the length of the trail, and all the elevation changes, it felt more like a hike than a garden stroll. 😄

  11. @lydiaschoch The tunnel provides access to Palo Alto's University Caltrain Station from the Embarcardero Bike Trail that runs in the railroad right-of-way. Besides the stairs, there are ramps to the left and right that allow bicycles go either way on the trail without even having to slow down. (Which I can confirm as a pedestrian.)

  12. After dominating the airspace for three weeks, the fledgling Cooper's hawks disappeared. Today the jays are making a huge commotion, apparently trying to reclaim their territorial prerogatives. But it appears there are two different clans arguing over whose turf it is, with neither side really asserting dominance. Meanwhile, the house finches are asserting their own imperatives, ignoring the jay's efforts to drive them out.
