@_jpmh_ @krstf I used to do the 100 books a year thing until I realized I was not enjoying what I read. I have reduced it to 50 a year and I don't fuss if I don't meet said KPI. I am all for #slowreading

So who in @bookstodon world has read much in the way of #Greek classics? Any favourites, recommended translations, etc.? I've barely tried any but on a recommendation I recently bought the #Waterfield translation of #Herodotus and the #Lattimore version of #Thucydides. I'm slightly daunted but looking forward to getting stuck in! #bookstodon

My #ReadingGoal as ever this year will be to read... whatever I want, and definitely not set myself any kind of #ReadingChallenge. I surely can't be the only person who finds them a bit weird? Kind of feel like if reading is a challenge, you're doing it wrong!

@JordanFischer I remember reading "White Noise" for my university course 20-something years ago and really enjoying it, then went on and read "Underworld" and "Cosmopolis", which I also really enjoyed. But then read his latest "The Silence" a couple of years ago, which I thought was absolutely terrible, and I felt so disappointed!
