I've barely tried any but on a recommendation I recently bought the #Waterfield translation of #Herodotus and the #Lattimore version of #Thucydides. There are increasing concerns that dredging & other work related to the construction of the #Teeside #Freeport may be linked to recent catastrophic die-offs of marine life in the area, also affecting linked livelihoods. #ReclaimOurSeas are campaigning for a halt to work and further investigation of possible associated #pollution. It's clear there's terrible harm being done to the #environment

Just watched "The Banshees of Inisherin", another winner from Martin McDonagh – funny, tragic, surreal, disturbing, visually striking, and with a wonderful #score by Carter Burwell. A lot of messages to be taken from it too. I'll be thinking about this one for a while yet...

Just got round to watching "My Policeman", and I have to be honest I'm struggling to see what all the hype is about. Just all felt a little dull and predictable. The last few minutes with the older characters were quite touching, but Harry Styles, try as he might, appears to have the acting chops of a garden shed.
