If you use #ddclient for your #ddns, beware. In my Debian install, ddclient.conf had read access for all users, giving access to DDNS credentals to virtually all users.
Just so you realize how dangerous this is, anybody with access to a user account can change your A records and point them to their own servers, without you noticing. And all of this from a very simple API.

@sagolla my personal recommendation is to follow tags instead and from there on you can actually start following people with your same interests
For example I'm a huge fan of Rust and Matrix so I follow the hashtags #rustlang and #matrixdotorg :)

Okay so I did some research, a pure #p2p / #DHT implementation of a #dVPN doesn't exist!
I could try to implement it but coding a full assed DHT implementation, hole punching, wireguard bindings and interface seems... Troublesome
Though it would also scratch an itch that I've had for some time. So if anyone is experienced in networking, p2p, holepunching, whatever! Feel free to message me as this seems like a fun project to take on

I just got the results of my #matrixdotorg survey and damn they're overwhelming!
With that said though, I can easily tell that the biggest issue in Matrix, is that nobody knows what it is!
Rather than a protocol based on HTTP/JSON, many people believe it's just a chatroom server, some even said that it was a p2p system to interchange files, other people said it was an extension to XMPP even
If people understood what Matrix actually is, it could take off a lot more easily

I think I'm gonna transition my #reactjs app to #preactjs in order to make it faster and lighter, though it's quite big and transitioning is likely to be a pain in the ass, whaddya think? :)
(I wanted to use #infernojs but it's too unpopular sadly)

I got the Plasma desktop environment for free forever and I'm free to tweak it and modify it, it also doesn't spy on me
I got kdenlive, a professional-grade video editor also for free
I also got some games like Blinken and they're all incredibly fun
