#Rapid7 published some analysis of #malware likely dropped through the Notepad++ issue.
One of the loaders used by the malware is built with #Microsoft Warbird, a kernel-level code protection framework used by Windows. @cirosec blogged about how this framework could be abused a while back and also published a PoC on GitHub.

Yak-9UM This is - amazingly - not a restoration of one of the thousands of the Yak-9s built in Soviet Russia during WW2, but a new-built example, using original drawings, by the Yakovlev concern in Russia. The main change from the original specification was to install a U.S. Allison V-1710 engine, rather than the Klimov VK-107A. I’ve actually flown one of these grey tailed #warbirds on operational missions. It was nicknamed, “the taliban turbo.”
The G1000 had a bunch of intermittent faults. The avionics shop was very proud of figuring out the problem. The quarter cup of Afghan sand they managed to vacuum out of the avionics bay was the culprit.

The G1000 had a bunch of intermittent faults. The avionics shop was very proud of figuring out the problem. The quarter cup of Afghan sand they managed to vacuum out of the avionics bay was the culprit.
