  1. @Two9A Thanks for the suggestion. react-hook-form is likely unavailable to me because...

I'm not actually coding in React. I'm coding with #Yew, which is a #Rust framework that was VERY HEAVILY INSPIRED by React. :D Concepts move over, but the actual ecosystem did not.

  6. @Two9A About twenty years ago now, I found a #PowerMacintosh 8500 in the trash and decided to take it. The hardware was flaky, I had to mess with DIP switches on a VGA adapter, and I knew nothing about macOS 9 at that point.

But, like you, my first real Mac (and laptop) came when found a cheap #PowerBook G3 when I got to college. I bought a hard drive, some memory, and a boxed copy of #macOS Tiger. It was old by then, but it served me well until I got an Intel-based MacBook Pro.

  7. @Two9A I feel like I might have to just see if I can fill the void haha

I used to tweet a lot about personal finance stuff (even ran a newsletter for a while) and followed #FinTwit

What type of UKPF content do you miss exactly?

  8. @Two9A I have no idea there was a regular and reoccurring post about premium bonds 😅

Yeah that sort of stuff is quite interesting. I've found a few posts on Reddit and Youtube that are like that. Might just have to cross post those here 🔜

Also #FinToot?! Had no idea that was a tag here 😂

  9. At long last, and after tons of not quite boilerplate, but tedious code, I have added the ability to Visions VTT to both create a new character and edit Candela Obscura characters.

Boy howdy this is tricky, but the use of reducers greatly reduced the amount of boilerplate mess. Thanks to @Two9A from the #React community for the advice to go that direction.

I'll be recording a demo video introducing my VTT tomorrow.

  14. At the doctor's, and thought this was a nice feature: a way to tell how close to the end of the flight of steps you are, by touch.

    It's the little things.

  15. @akashgoswami #FinToot isn't a thing _yet_ as far as I can tell. Might be time to start a new tradition...

  16. @akashgoswami The monthly shitpost around premium bonds winners was always a fun time; aside from that, what was probably most enlightening was those times people would raise something that wouldn't be common knowledge. Things like the child-benefit clawback threshold, or the fact that RSUs are subject to employer _and_ employee NI.

I learned a lot of obscure esoteria like that from r/ukpf; I could see #FinToot doing alright here.

  17. I'd entirely forgotten that it's CSS Naked Day today, when participating websites remove their CSS entirely and allow the content to shine through like it's 1993.

My blog is one of the sites participating: imrannazar.com

  19. Huh, that'a twice this week I've woken up and the clock has shown 02:38.

Luckily I've been able to fall back asleep each time, but: I hope this isn't foreshadowing. Nothing good can happen at 02:38.

  20. @sheromon Browsing my timeline overnight, it looks like all the activity is on #PyConUS fwiw.

  21. @aglet Quite difficult to park so neatly across a give-way, must've taken some dedication.

    (Also, #cantparktheremate obligatory)

  22. Paying the #ADHD tax again today: lost my tape measure. Thought I'd drop by the convenience store on the way back from school run, to pick one up...

There are three convenience stores on the way back, each larger than the last, and of course I find what I need at the third and largest. I expect when I put this tape measure away I'll find the old one in the same place, but in the meantime:

  23. The long-running saga of my blog post detailing the writing of Pongwars on the continues. We're now at north of five thousand words, and we've reached the point where I can actually start talking about the Pongwars part, so this is going great.

I recorded Figure 8 today, which shows the two balls moving onscreen, with no code for edge detection or bouncing. So you know, none of the difficult part.

Still on course for a Christmas release? Well, maybe.
