But then why didn't the memory compression make it usable with 4GB?
It's like it just decided one day that 4GB wasn't enough and started running like molasses (this is accessed via VNC, so swapping is doubly harmful).
I replaced the 2x2GB sticks with 2x4GB, and everything is way more than "right as rain."I gotta learn #GnuCash quickly so I can get off of this benighted software. This is my only PC and I only use it for #QuickBooks Pro Desktop (I will not use their cloud "solution").

I had a disk fail in a #ZFS mirror. I removed the bad disk from the pool, and then swapped in a new drive.
(For reasons, I didn't just swap the disk and use a replace command)
I then, mistakenly, used the 'add' command which made a stripe, not a mirror.
Ugh.
With solid backups in place, I threw caution to the wind and tried to 'remove' the 2nd disk.
Took a while, but ZFS moved the data to the other disk and then I was able to add (attach...) it correctly and remake the mirror.

I've just passed my AZ-900 Azure Fundemtnals test. I've been in IT for 15+ years and have just never been a certification guy. Fun to get one, however basic it is. I've now accumulated some useless internet points!

Installed Fedora 37, using UTM, on my Mac. Excellent to see how easy that was, and how many packages are just ready.
MATE Desktop installed. Reboot. Easy.
This can only mean one thing: I have no option but to upgrade my Fedora 35 server. I love to see another great release, but it always makes me wonder if I really am crazy for using Fedora as my bare metal server OS. Time to do some ZFS installation testing!
