  1. There was a shooting last night at a Walmart in Beavercreek. Have friends that live near there, they were fine. But trying to find good reporting on what was happening was a tiny reflection of the state of social media. Twitter (X) was a hot mess and within 30 mins, the same 2 videos were retweeted by hack accounts. So much trash you could not see any other updates. And the hate that was showing up was just gross. Mastodon had nothing which I expect because I do not get my hot news here. But the sad part was the local news stations websites. It was almost impossible to read the three sentences they were putting out. Ads popping up, etc. And really, there was no news. I finally used the police scanner just to see if there was activity or if the event was over. It only took 5 mins to discern that the shooting was controlled. Yet none of the local news sites indicated the status. Almost like keeping the risk high was good for ad business.

  2. A new tea this morning. Fall is a good time for trying back teas. I'm mostly a green tea drinker but the cold mornings require some additional kick!

  3. Sunday tour of Dayton Masonic Center. Such interesting history. And the building, originally built in 1912, has been beautifully restored!

  4. @susankitchens Any final decision on your Stitcher replacement? I have been away for two weeks and just found out I have less than a month! SO SAD! In case anyone cares, I BRIEFLY considered Sirius XM since we have that in our cars but since it took almost 30 mins to sort out the streaming versus regular accounts, decided that the terrible Sirius XM experience we already dislike would likely carry over to any podcast app!
