  1. Yearling Black Bear emerging from a failed attempt at swimming after a salmon. It will learn, lol! #laketahoe #WildlifePhotography #salmonrun

  2. “Patience”

One of my favorite bears as she always views me with gentle curiosity. Here she waits for the salmon to move just a little bit closer…

  3. American Dipper hunting for Kokanee Salmon eggs, Taylor Creek, Lake Tahoe. #laketahoe #salmonrun #BirdPhotography

  4. A very curious Black Bear trying to figure out what I was doing hiding on a tree that had fallen over the creek…. My favorite time of year is the Taylor Creek (Lake Tahoe) salmon run! #laketahoe #salmonrun #WildlifePhotography

  5. Because there hasn’t been enough aurora saturation on here: Pyramid Lake, NV glows under the light of the 10/10 aurora. Absolutely magical night in an incredible place! #pyramidlake #aurora #nevada

  6. Chukar nearly stepped on me while I was posted up waiting for Bighorn Sheep…thankfully it didn’t, I’m too ticklish and laughing would have spooked the whole covey. Chances like this don’t come along often! #BirdPhotography #washoe #nv

  7. While waiting on a rugged volcanic ridge for a herd of California Bighorn Sheep I experienced an entire covey of Chukar walking thru my position. Absolutely insane to have them walking by within 5 feet while I got these shots! #washoe #BirdPhotography

  8. Thoreau described the bluebird as carrying the sky on its back, but I always viewed it as a summer sky. A subtle distinction but fitting. Seeing this Western Bluebird leaning across the stark dividing line of the rush brought to mind an old legend: the bluebird’s song scared away Tawiscara bringing an end to winter’s chill. Warmth and color returns. #BirdPhotography #washoe

  9. California Bighorn Sheep, Washoe County NV. No avoiding the reality of chasing sheep, taken on Sunday and my legs still hurt 🤣 #bighornsheep #washoe #WildlifePhotography

  10. Taking a break from climbing up towards a group of bighorn sheep I saw an incredible vantage of plateau and hill, light and shadow, earth and sky. Between Mt. Rose and Slide Mtn. clouds hung like a hammock. For a brief moment the world was good again. One part of a much larger panorama from this last weekend. #washoe #photography

  11. One seriously twisted Juniper in the mountains near Pyramid Lake, NV. I’m a wildlife guy, but damn if this tree doesn’t have me thinking of heading back up there to experiment some more. I only had my 100-400 with me and didn’t feel like walking off a cliff to get it all in frame. 8 shots to stitch this beast together, but those berries are detailed! 🤣 #washoe #nv #photography

  12. Bushtit always capture my fascination, to be so small that even a diminutive thistle is larger than yourself? #truckeeriver #mogul #payattentiontothesmallstuff
