@randynose There were a few federated social media projects before Identi.ca, like Appleseed. Also experimental federated publishing projects like FreeNet. But AFAIK none of them got any significant traction. Unless you count non-web based ones like chat servers (IRC, XMPP) and image boards (UseNet).

The Ford Tri-Motor was my favourite aircraft as a kid. I must have about 20 models of it. Finally got to see one in the flesh and be able to climb inside on a trip from the UK to Arizona about 15 years ago. #ChildhoodDreams -
@aktivismoEstasMiaLuo @randynose #.org is awesome but it's blocked in China (where I live). It's also more centralized than the web in general. If only there was a site kind of like invidio.us, where you could put in a URL and it would extract the text, images, and CSS, and display them in a #ReaderView style layout. Then I could post links to those.

Sigh. Woke up a little early, and the #cofee was calling me more than going back to sleep for an hour.
It's my "day off" but yet I'm headed off to work again for a "half day". 👷♂️ Being that it's the weekend, it should be much less crowded at the landfill.I'm still amazed at the amount of trash that we produce.
I'm also very amazed at how poorly organized the landfill is, but that's another story.

Well, you CAN search for Politics but every message that has that word will show up, VS if you're talking #politics , it's more like an emphasis, and that you're tired of all the #bullshit that #politics creates and the headache's and the #heartache of all of the #BS
BUT the #hashtag IS clickable, and you can click on it to get more #BS then you could digest at one sitting.That's what I think hashtags are for.
