@Powerfromspace1 in general, shorter wavelengths are scattered more than longer wavelengths. #SETI emphasizes listening via photons -radio or optical https://www.seti.org/research/seti-101/a-primer-on-seti-at-the-seti-institute/. Radio waves have the longest wavelengths in the electromagnetic spectrum https://science.nasa.gov/ems/05_radiowaves. Optical SETI searches for pulses of laser light in or near the visible portion of the light sprectrum, while Radio SETI searches for signals within the radio and microwave portions of the light spectrum https://www.princeton.edu/~willman/observatory/oseti/oseti.html

@Powerfromspace1 There are other #Soyuz 2 rocket launch pads, but they are either located at an unsuitable latitude, like Plesetsk, or not certified for crewed flights, like #Vostochny https://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2025/11/site-31-accident/
Rockets launching from the country’s new spaceport in eastern Russia, the #Vostochny Cosmodrome, would easily reach the ROS in its polar orbit https://arstechnica.com/space/2025/12/russia-is-about-to-do-the-most-russia-thing-ever-with-its-next-space-station/ -

This is what ‘good faith’ negotiations with the Ruzzians looks like… 😤 -
And in an unrelated fun fact from Igor Sushko on Blusky (long time Ruzzian watcher): “With over 1.2 million Russian alcoholics eliminated in Russia's stupid invasion of Ukraine since 2022, the world's five largest spirit makers now sit on $22 billion worth of unsold alcohol inventory.”

@Powerfromspace1 Good to see Health Canada pushing back. Related discussion on @cbcnews #TheDose and elsewhere are missing one important detail:
Autistic folks get more headaches. Autistic pregnant people—whether they know they’re Autistic or not—are thus more likely to use analgesics. Therefore, it makes sense to expect, to some extent, #autism causes #acetaminophen use.

@Powerfromspace1 @bhawthorne @SpaceX The control software was likely written to work from first principles to exploit the full range of effects to try to bring the vehicle into the desired orientation/speed. I keep thinking about the #Columbia #Orbiter as its similarly excellent software and systems were overwhelmed by the drag from the hole on the front of its wing... the rudder was maxed hard over, all the RCS thrusters were firing, it just couldn't stop physics. RIP. Starship survived tho!
