Work with Nabu Casa so it integrates well with @homeassistant and #YearOfTheVoice and I'll be picking up one for every room in my house.
I'd also suggest talking to Synesthesium (the lead dev over at https://community.rhasspy.org/ who is also the primary dev hired for Year Of The Voice).

The PinePower V2 is a 165W desktop power supply with a lot of features... but the current batch of units has an unfixable error that displays 0V output when charging under some circumstances. I am 🤏 this close to declaring #pine64 a scam. It's fine they are selling ancient stock (which they didn't keep well, there are water-like marks on the USB hub they send along the phone); but they should at least keep the crucial parts working. My plan was to keep the pinephone connected to hotspot of my main phone and build some Linux apps instead of supporting the Oligarch platforms with more tools; without wifi it is next to useless.
I guess I can make it a weak server; but I have several rescued devices powering my homelab already. :sad_panda:

#pine64 support seem to be trolling me. I reported that wifi chip stopped working within ~15 minutes, and their response so far has been:
- Gaslight me and try to convince me there is no problem
- Try to convince me my phone wasn't charged enough for wifi+bt chip to work.
- Try to convince me that even though battery is charged, it doesn't have "enough voltage" just for this one chip while everything else works
It is almost as if they just want me to go away and stop complaining.

I've been trying to talk @pine64 into making something like this for years. I've never gotten a no, but then I certainly haven't gotten a yes, either.We desperately need a FOSS version of something like this though given how much the apps for Tile / Trackr etc, collect location data.

is anyone able to test the modem patch for the #Pine64 #PinePhonePro?
i dont have a sim card for the device as its unfortunately not my daily driver. will give u pmbootstrap commands and the kernel tree so u can build it locally to test. can also field any questions if u have any
bonus: u can get credit in the linux kernel for testing the patch too! would need name and email for that
i think ill also try to get wifi and bluetooth working too. phosh seems to recognize the modem with my patch
