  1. @NunavutBirder I moved from #Aperture to #C1Pro a few years ago. C1 said it could apply the equivalent of Aperture edits; in practice results were awful. I then used ApertureExporter, which iterated through the A Library, calling Aperture to apply edits and exporting the results. That worked really well. I kept the unedited originals (raws) offline, but I've only gone back to a couple dozen. I don't think there's a similar tool for LR, but it's possible manually, I guess.

  2. @Sir_Osis_of_Liver I've also heard good things about downtown Dartmouth these days, but it was a short visit, and we didn't have a chance to take the ferry across. We also didn't manage to explore the Quinpool District or the area around Dalhousie U (next time).

  3. @Sir_Osis_of_Liver Lunenburg was a disappointment — just a classic seacoast tourist strip (I understand why it's a UNESCO world heritage site, but that's lost under the seafood restaurants, gift shops, and bus tours). There was a nice café in an old house off the main strip though, and the towns and villages back along Route 3 towards Halifax are nice.

Peggy's Cove and the SwissAir 111 memorial, OTOH — definitely worth a visit. Even the new viewing platforms haven't ruined its rugged beauty.

In Halifax itself, the North End is interesting, especially the Hydrostone Neighbourhood and the Agricola corridor. And the nearby Fort Needham Park is a very touching and creative memorial of the 1917 Halifax explosion.

In the South End, the Public Gardens were already beautiful in early May, though the Farmer's Market (moved to the Seaport District) was disappointing; Fredericton, though much smaller, has a far bigger and better weekend market. 🤷

  7. There’s a handy fox den that I keep tabs on, as it’s not occupied every year. I usually hike up to it but this year I took a lazy route and sent the drone up to have a look. #Nunavut

  8. No card in my camera so I used the drone zoomed in. Arctic Hare by Inuksuuk. (One inuksuk, two inuksuuk, more than two inuksuit). These were made by qallunaq (non-Inuit) during construction of the airport. #Nunavut #wildlife

  9. I’m of Irish and Ukrainian descent, but my grandfather fought a war wearing one of these, so I wear it on Remembrance Day. Well other times as well. #RemembranceDay
