Like how the subtitler for #TheNightShift took an English saying without a direct counter-part, and used the one saying from #Flemish that is particularly funny in-context of what's going on. #Television #Movies

A beautiful and heartwarming, original story. With just enough reverence for the original movies to really bring home the Nostalgia.
Also, McKenna Grace absolutely knocked it out of the park. In every single way.

Saw the (2018) #RobinHood movie again.
I absolutely adore how they created a movie that embodies modern warfare, but entirely using old-fashioned weaponry & outfits.
Those scenes in Arabia, for example, are absolutely amazing. Huge fan, and very inspirational.

Finished the #Television series portion of #DowntonAbbey.
This is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the finest shows of all times. It wasn't all sunshine & roses, but the bulk of it was still engaging and enthralling.
Maggie Smith continued to be a shining star from start to finish. ♥

Shame it hasn't been aired on TV here since the original broadcast. Must have been well over 15 years ago, easy.

Il Coordinamento Scuole Valsusa vi invita a partecipare a un momento di confronto aperto sulla scuola, sul suo ruolo e sulle trasformazioni che la attraversano.

Proietteremo il film “D’istruzione pubblica”, a cui seguirà una discussione aperta.
"D'istruzione pubblica" (2026) è un documentario inchiesta italiano diretto da Federico Greco e Mirko Melchiorre che denuncia lo smantellamento sistematico della scuola pubblica e la sua aziendalizzazione.
Non si tratta solo di una proiezione tradizionale.Crediamo che il film possa essere un’occasione, un pretesto per vederci e parlare, perché troppo spesso mancano spazi reali in cui confrontarsi sulla scuola.
Vogliamo costruire uno spazio collettivo in cui interrogarci su cosa sta diventando la scuola oggi:
tra precarizzazione, aziendalizzazione, disuguaglianze crescenti e perdita di senso del lavoro educativo.
Crediamo che la scuola non sia un luogo neutrale, ma uno spazio attraversato da conflitti, scelte politiche e possibilità di trasformazione.
Per questo sentiamo l’urgenza di aprire momenti di confronto reali, fuori dalle logiche formali, tra chi la scuola la vive ogni giorno e chi ne immagina il futuro.
L’invito è rivolto a docenti, studenti, famiglie e a tutta la comunità.

Playing around with an office magnet toy and made a shape I think is fun. It's right pentagonal prism with two of the prism edges removed. So we end up with a shape that's got two pentagons, one rectangle, and a two skew hexagons. (Or, the pentagons can be skew too, or the two hexagons can be plane I think though that is not actually feasible with the magnet toy.)
Its Euler characteristic is 10 - 13 + 5 = 2, just like a real polyhedron. :)
