CW: My love-hate relationship with Flickr
I've been on Flickr since 2006. That's a long time. I've been a group mod, still am but it's so niche that the group is near dead now. I've also been heavily involved in the community. Flickr has undergone so many changes, that it's barely recognizable any more.
Only a third of my good photos remain on the site because I cannot afford a paid account. I keep using it because of the feedback I receive and photography techniques I learn from watching others. Between bad moderators, insensitive commenters, a lack of community, and people liking photos to gain followers; Flickr is not very useful.
Maybe I need to stop looking for feedback. This is a hobby I've had for most of my life. If I focused more on the doing and less on being "liked", I might grow more. When I first started, no one saw my photos because I didn't want to upload them. I improved quickly. Maybe that's the key.

Practicing shapes and perspective is like working on music scales. Practicing a lot helps, but practicing wrong can make things difficult.
My problem I'm working on, I can draw very straight lines, but when I try to draw cubes in different perspectives, they look a bit like jello cubes. I used to be decent at cubes, but never tried a lot of perspectives before.

I have a dumb question. I usually do a content warning for art with eyes, something I was told was helpful for many people here when I first came to fedi like 5 years ago. I realize not many people are doing that now. Also, my avatar has eyes and I can't blur that.
How helpful is an eyes content warning?
Edit: well, this poll will be incorrect. I forgot that I normally tag the phrase "eye contact". A couple people already pointed out this is the correct way.

Lately I've been catching up on #films I haven't watched, but wanted to. Normally, I watch comedy, scifi, fantasy, historical drama. My favorites are dramedies or dark comedies. I have a soft spot for great cinematography.

It is very much like Parks & Recreation were set in The Office. It's also a what if scenario. As in, what if Michael Scott, David Brent, and Leslie Knope all worked together.

Because a lot is going on, I want to remind or ask the fediverse to please CW or tag political events and news. There are many on here who suffer from anxiety disorders and PTSD.
Simply hashtagging a topic, which can be filtered by users, helps emmensely. A CW is the most useful, but I understand there are things people don't want hidden like that.
It helps us to choose when and how to see information that can exacerbate illness and symptoms. Thank you!

Okay, so I kinda went off prompt for this one. But there is a reason. First off, not feeling my best so I'm gonna do what I can. Secondly, a couple months ago I bought new shoes. I told an employee that I didn't like wearing green. He said he likes wearing green. A bit later I said, oh and orange. He said those are his favorite colors. He joked with me later because a different guy was buying neon green & orange shoes.
