Oh, and I case anyone was playing at home and wondered what a layered Xmas fruit cake and icecream cake, with a dark choc shortbread cookie shell would look like... well here it is. Not super sweet, but could do wit a bit of tartness to balance it.

Had an idea that icecream cake might be good for Xmas lunch... So... Rather than look up a recipe... O_o... I choc coated some shortbread cookies to form the crust, cut layers of Xmas fruit cake to form the base, poured remaining chocolate over the base so it wouldn't get soggy, mixed the toppings and crumbs from the cake through vanilla icecream, and did a layer of icecream, another layer of fruit cake, and then more icecream. So it's ugly, but, should be edible... O_o #JobsDone

While I have no plans to be starting up the insanity of the good old #coffeehunt days of old, and given the (well justified) price of coffee these days, it's going to be a "sometimes" treat.
This morning's treat is a somewhat dry, blackcurrant Kenya #coffee, Karatina, roasted by @single_o. Not a bad start to the day 😁👍

Pressure cookers make mid week meals a piece of cake. Threw some of my frozen chicken in with a chopped onion, and a tbl spoon each of gochujang and miso, along with 1.6kg of chicken drumsticks. Topped it up with a touch of water to make sure the chicken was covered and then on top went a steamer and some peeled and halved potatoes.
A bit of stir fried veg later, covered in "gravy" (?), I plated up a very decent effort for a Wed night 😅👍 #Jobsdone

Wasn't sure what to make for dinner, but it turns out Japanese beef curry was the right answer. It is strange how a little bit of tomato sauce, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and a grated apple give it the something something that makes a Japanese curry pop. 😁👍#jobsdone

At the end of a hot day like today, the last thing I wanted was something hot for dinner. Cold rice noodles and peanut chicken to the rescue, and OMG it was delicious.
For the rice noodles the sauce was fish sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, garlic clove, and a touch of chilli sauce.
For the poached chicken there was peanut butter, lemon juice, fish sauce, miren, soy sauce, ginger, and sesame oil. #jobsdone

Trying to find houses to rent in this Sydney market is a fucking nightmare. Rents might have peaked... but for something simular to what we have now it's at least another $150-300/wk on top of our already freshly increased rent. #SoMuchFun

There is something satisfying about the jiggle and wiggle of a good chicken stock. After turning my drumstick bones to ash, I went and bought some wing tips to roast off and use as stock. They do such an awesome job in stock!! #jobsdone
