Casals Sunday - his late Philips recordings ... certainly not Casals at his best, but most enjoyable.
Numbers 4 and 5 were recorded in 1961 at Casals Festival Prades, No. 7 in 1956 at a concert in Paris commemorating Casals' 57th performance anniversary; No. 7 has Casals cond. Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux and Maurice Gendron in 1961 - a study in contrast!

Casals Sunday - his late Philips recordings ... certainly not Casals at his best, but most enjoyable.
The first three are from Bonn, 1958, with Mieczyslaw Horszowski and Sandor Végh, who jumped in for Alexander Schneider, refusing to perform in Germany.
