  2. Mac Plus board booting 7.1 for the first time ever (since it never had enough RAM do it since this week) from a #BlueSCSI (thank you so much @onegeekarmy!) and running the things that matter! 😁

  3. @arroz @_the_cloud @cdfinder @Cdespinosa @onegeekarmy You got a floppy to work!?🙌🥳 I just found that old dirty floppies may cause destruction of others - seems cleaning between each on might be a good policy.

#BlueSCSI is magical! It took me a while to understand the boot process. Finally found the preinstalled images. It's fun how I was able to plug into the back of a zip drive. I'm back in the world of system 6 before Multifinder😱 - I could run 7 but some files are too old to open there.

  4. Big #BlueSCSI update yesterday with tons of improvements, but one of the nicest for end users is: You can now update BlueSCSI directly from your vintage computer! Use the latest BlueSCSI Toolbox beta + this release. FW updates from retro.bluescsi.com (no https) github.com/BlueSCSI/Blu...

  5. @BlueSCSI Hmmm, I bet these can be shared on #GlobalTalk using GrayShare… 🤔

  6. This is what this #BlueSCSI does

edit: counting on an ASCII/Binary table looks like the 5th bit is dropped out

  7. On my classic Macs with DB25 SCSI ports, is there any reason why I'd NOT settle on just using the DB25 #BlueSCSI over the internal versions? With easy access to the SD, the Pico WiFi being outside and no I/O performance hit... it just seems advantageous, no?

I added a right angle DB25 adapter so the BlueSCSI is upright and parallel to the back of the case to reduce rear clearance, too (helpful on my display shelves).

    Curious for opinions! #vintagemac #retrocomputing

  8. Is there a clever way to update a #BlueSCSI V2 that's tucked away inside a PowerBook without opening it first?

  9. @claudiom @mos_8502 #BlueSCSI really comes in handy for using A/UX these days. There's a ready-to-go disk image at Macintosh Garden, and it makes all the futzing with partitions and drives trivial. macintoshgarden.org/apps/aux-a

  10. SCSI-Emulation: BlueSCSI V2026.03.01

BlueSCSI is a SCSI hardware replacement for the Amiga and other retro systems. It emulates SCSI drives such as hard disks or optical drives using the Pi Pico PR2040 and Pico 2 RP2350. The recently released firmware version 2026.03.01-RC2 for BlueSCSI v2 and Ultra/Ultra Wide includes bug fixes and enhancements, and in particular significant optimizations for WLAN speed and AmigaNET support.

  15. Great work by @jcs.org for a HUGE improvement to #BlueSCSI Wi-Fi Speed- will be in the next release but did a quick pre-release build with his branch if you want to try it out today!

    > The result of all that debugging is a 691% speed-up in #EtherTalk speed when going over BlueSCSI Wi-Fi - via jcs

Oh and @twvd already merged these fixes into SnowEmu for a much faster experience there as well!

  18. User came on Discord today complaining how hard it was to configure RAW mode on BlueSCSI - they were right! So I automated it all.

Seems samplers users like the RAW partitioned SD workflow instead of images.

This also allows you to pop in a SCSI2SD card into your BlueSCSI for a easy upgrade.
