@Anibyl Carbon is what carbon does :-). If you ride your carbon bicycle a lot, it will have these sorts of "cracking" issues far sooner than a steel frame ridden the same distance. It seems pointless unless you are part of a racing team with a mechanic and you get new bicycles every 5 years or less OR you have lots of $ #Ymmv

I’ve seen these with gaps for bikesIf they had lots of close speed bumps for cars 🚙 , all with gaps to let bikes 🚲 and scooters 🛴 pass, it would be quite exciting for drivers going too fast 🫨

One thing I want to add: it wouldn't even make it to the news if the cycle path crosswalk wasn't raised.
Unsignalized crossings are often terrifying because of wide roadways, absence of refuge islands or markings, obstructed views, big traffic volumes, large vehicles. At least some of the issues were fixed here.

First night in Mission, a building 250m from the railway.
Several trains at night which is ok, but because of all the *level* crossings they have to blast their horns many, MANY times.

The street I live on doesn't have continuous #sidewalks (because #Vancouver can't afford nice things), it has #FreeParking on both sides, there's enough space for one car to pass and a bit of extra room. Similar to the picture.
People walk on the road. Some drivers slow down when passing, but most maintain the speed.
It's terrifying. I got used to it when biking, but sharing the road with vehicles when #walking is a whole new thing. What should I do, tAkE tHe LanE? Ridiculous.
