I find the shell game of multinational brands difficult to remember and navigate, so I use the barcode scanner and family tree charts of the excellent Buycott app on my phone to stay the hell away from nestlé and other spawn of mammon.
Last night after dinner, we confirmed that yes indeed, sadly, ovaltine is owned by that particular ethical vacuum, and similar brands are owned by other large but less boycotted pharmaceutical conglomerates.
Now researching homemade recipes and slavery-free chocolate options.
