@10leej Honestly the most expensive part will be the hard drives. I’m planning on using an N100 ITX board with a Jonesbo case as my needs are modest - just #Immich, #Nextcloud, #Jellyfin, and maybe the #Omada controller software. I run #PiHole and #HomeAssistant on their own Raspberry Pi’s because I don’t believe in putting all of your eggs in one basket (NASket?)

For twenty plus years now, when someone sends me a contact to sign as a PDF, if I'm interested, i read it, and considering my signature will be the first if I agree, i consider it a proposal, which I modify accordingly, sign, and send back.
It's amazing that almost no one takes the time to read those contracts - they just countersign and send me back the copy with their signatures.
Sometimes, shit hits the fan! And when it does they start with the threatening or intimidating language, saying "you signed the contract", to which i respond, "Yes I did asshole - did you read it?"

Thank you for the elegant, built in #Linux solution. Your suggestion is what I was looking for.
Dramatic difference.
On the Acer C740 with 32GB SanDisk m.2 SATA SSD the completion time was:
31.447 seconds
On the Dell Chromebook 11 with eMMC storage it was:
1 minute, 18.551 seconds.
I guessed the SATA SSD would be faster, but now I know by how much! That makes the Acer more than twice as fast as the Dell when loading data from the disk.

@10leej I replaced the original Google BIOS with #coreboot, so that allows me to install almost anything that runs on Intel processors. I just installed #galliumOS first, as that has some extra stuff to make it run better on Chromebook hardware right away (key mappings, sound drivers, et cetera).
Will eventually be experimenting with #BSD on this model, too 😃

It's the shortest month of the year. I'm growing tired of hearing about which NEW instance has us defederated. I don't know at what frequency you are checking this but it's odd, and makes me feel uncomfortable, so I'm asking you to stop tagging me about it.
Second off. Review the lists in the future if the remote instance has stereophonic.space or udongein.xyz or waifuism.life removed without descriptive reason I will have a very low chance about caring for that instance. It's not impossible to correct a defederation however I'm going to weigh the worth of my time versus if an instance is just importing blockslist they are not worth my time.
Eventually in the future I will email CERTAIN instances directly but notifying me each time an instance defeds is not going to make that happen sooner.
