  1. When I visited Nuremberg a few weeks ago, I had some time to explore the area before checking in to my hotel, so I took my camera for a walk around Fürth. Besides the interesting-looking architecture, one thing that caught my eye was this stork nesting on top of a building.

  2. I'm not 100% sure about where I took this picture. Maybe it was in Fürth. Or it could be in Nuremberg… I don't know where, but I like this corner where the sun is shining on some art and a sculpture.

  3. I'm a sucker for wooden bridges like this one I saw in Nuremberg. And this one has an interesting history. People also call it the “Hangman's Bridge” or the “Henkerbrücke ” in German. It was built in 1595 after a flood did a lot of damage to Nuremberg.

  4. I passed by this tower every time I left my hotel in Nuremberg. It is the Spittlertorturm, one of the four circular main towers of the Nuremberg city fortifications. But the Spittlertor is the southwest of the Nuremberger City wall.

Early records strongly suggest that the gate tower was part of the last city wall. Its name comes from the nearby hospital St. Elisabeth of the Teutonic Order.

  5. This might be my favorite picture from the first day I walked around Nuremberg. This is the view of the Kreuzigungshof from the Museumsbrücke that crosses the Pegnitz river in the middle of the city.
